A large deep dish with hand painted blue lines and blue hand applied stencil flowers, roses in the center and flowers (possibly peony) and foliage around the rim. Early Doccia (circa 1750) had stenciled blue flowers on both maiolica and porcelain. I suspect that those pieces or similarly decorated mid-18th century ceramics were the inspiration for this piece...

Eight dinner plates transfer printed in blue with the Wild Rose border and Nuneham Courtenay pattern, early to mid-19th century. The park at Nuneham House near the Thames was designed by Capability Brown. Many early Victorian potteries produced this pattern and the backstamps reveal a palette of potteries: four plates by Samuel Moore & Co in Tyne & Wear, impressed flowerhead mark for Swansea in Wales, impressed and underglaze blue mark of Bell Cook & Co, Phoenix pottery in Newcastle...

18 English Mintons Porcelain Bread & Butter Plates, 6 1/4" diameter, 7/8" high, Brilliant etched raised gold rim on wider Cobalt Blue border. "Mintons Est. 1793 England" in purple, "g6262" in red on the bottom include impressed mark, and the condition of gold is in excellent condition.

Each: Handle has dense and dynamic ornament including scrolls, tendrils, and beading with fan terminal. Back plain. Oval bowl with double-sided gilding. Fully marked. This ceramic box with brass mounts was produced in France by Gien around 1875. It is 6 1/2 inches high and has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. The ceramic is soft paste with a tin glaze similar to majolica. If you run your fingers around the piece, you can actually feel the enamel painting. It is richly decorated with cherubs, fountains, and ornate scrolls, all on a cobalt blue background. The designs are all hand painted. This porcelain pitcher was produced in England in the late 19th century. It is not marked but the type of porcelain and the style are indicative of Grainger Worcester. It measures 7 3/4 inches high and the diameter of the base is 3 1/2 inches. The porcelain has a high gloss glaze giving it an almost glass like finish. The ground color is salmon pink. This covered jar was produced in Germany by Wolfsohn Dresden before 1890. It has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches and is 2 3/4 inches high. The jar is ornately painted in Meissen or Vienna style. There is a scene with a horse and rider hand painted on the lid, which is rather unusual subject matter for Dresden painting. This reserve is surrounded with intricate gilding. The sides of the jar have panels of rose colored fish scale painting alternating with fancy gilded panels...

This porcelain ink well with tray was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. There is an impressed Nymphenburg shield mark on the bottom of the tray. The tray measures 8 3/4 inches long and 6 3/4 inches wide. The ink wells are attached to the tray but have separate lids and inserts.
