This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Italy by Ginori in the early 20th century. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is elaborately decorated. A beautiful and uncommon sugar bowl, probably S. Jersey (South Jersey) glass. The bowl has a galleried top and embedded white enamel striping. The bowl rim and foot have an applied green edge.

This fine piece is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, or problems of any kind. It is 5 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter, with a rough, snapped pontil.

A nicely decorated document box featuring red and black grain painting, the edges with yellow and green striping.

The box is 13 1/4 inches in length, 7 1/4 inches in depth, and 6 1/2 inches tall. Overall condition is excellent, with no cracks or breaks, and virtually all of the original, unrestored paint is present. The lock and hinges are original and in fine shape. There is the normal amount of wear along some of the box edges.

This particular piece is a very unique, stone prayer tablet. It is difficult to date but stylistically could be as early as the Five Dynasties period (907-960 AD). These tablets were often found in conjunction with the ceramic offering vessels from Yunnan. The tablets would accompany the offering vessels and would sometimes comprise an enclosure for the offering vessels. (See trocadero item number 797164 for an example of the offering vessel)...

Folk Art Duck Decoy hand carved from wood with yellow eye created from a thumb tack. The bird is painted black with white highlights and a grey bill. It has a leather strap on the base used for pulling the decoy in the water.
CONDITION: signs of wear on leather and on the base of the decoy. The yellow thumb tack is probably a later replacement.

This chrome and wood kettle on a stand was produced in Meridan, Connecticut by Manning and Bowman with a patent date of 1904. The kettle and stand together are 12 1/2 inches high. This glass vase was produced in Kamenicky Senov, Bohemia by Josef Ahne in the late 19th century. The glass studio was in production from 1830 until 1909. This is one of the earlier pieces. This is a superbly rendered watercolor on paper attributed to Henry Walton. The name of the sitter, John Andrew Jenny, is written in pencil at the top of the painting, in penmanship not unlike Walton's.

A magnificent sterling silver claret spoon by Dominick & Haff. This example is strikingly decorated in a pattern representing three different varieties of chrystanthemums. The decoration appears to be loosely based on Dominick & Haff's "#10" pattern, though this is much more ornate. The area around the flowers is intricately pierced in the rococo style. The back bears Dominick & Haff's hallmark and the pattern number "32".

A nice coin silver rattail spoon by John Brown, active in Baltimore from 1799, after apprenticing in Philadelphia. The bowl is rather narrow, suggesting it was to be used as a pap spoon. The spoon must have been an early piece from Brown's shop, as the design is quite clearly drawn from late 18th century styles. The three-letter monogram in a bright-cut cartouche is also characteristic of the period. The back is marked with Brown's punch.
