Beautiful antique Indian rosewood and brass mounted dowry / marriage Box. A pyramid form box with with hinged top over a compartmentalized interior. Measures 9.5 inches x 13 inches x 10.25 inches. An interesting antique silver plated pinioned-lid stamp box c1880-1890. This 2-5/8" x 1-1/2" unsigned box features a floral corner applique and two applied butterflies on the top, a pin stop and corner swinging pivot. The interior has remnants of what appears to be adhesive from some missing material and it has two cutout felt pieces; it would make a nice tiny jewel box also...

Antique Sheraton Tea Caddy in mahogany, the rectangular top opens to two compartments, with inlaid fan patterae on front and lid and herringbone stringing. English, circa 1780.

Rare George III Ambry in mahogany having an hinged arched top opening to a well and a paneled cabinet door flanked py pilasters, and the whole raised on ball feet. In Christian churches, items kept in an ambry include chalices and other vessels, as well as items for the reserved sacrament, the consecrated elements from the Eucharist. English, circa 1760.

Small tortoise shell ladies case with an overlay sterling silver design. This may have been used as a patch box or to hold coins. Mono and in very good antique condition, it measures 3.75" x 2.5". Circa 1850

An early 19th century lacquered papier maché snuff box. Germany (Brunswick), Stockmann type, the inside of the lid with impressed maker’s mark M.A.A. On the lid a “portrait” of a lady generously décolleté, with a tiara and pearl necklace, an opulent and luxurious mock fiancé that many a gentleman of the period liked to show his friends when bringing out his snuff box. Diameter "3½/ 9 cm, height "¾ / 2 cm. Condition: small damage to the lady’s neck (cf. photos), otherwise fine.

Colorful thread box, the hinged top decoupaged with playing cards. Both the inside lid and the bottom have labels proclaiming "Brook's Soft Finish is the Perfection of Sewing Thread."

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: very good, some crackling of finish. Size: 5" x 4" x 2".

Oval wooden plaque decorated with a group of Tarantella dancers, in the marquetry work typical of Sorrento, Italy. Originally used as an ornament on the lid of a box, a souvenir of an Italian journey in the late 19th century or around 1900. Width "6¼/ 16 cm, height "4/ 10,5 cm. Condition: some wear (cf pics)
