DESCRIPTION: This early to mid 19th c. high-back pine bucket-bench, or cupboard, is a graceful and highly unusual piece of American country & primitive furniture. With shaker-like sensibility, this utilitarian piece would have been at home in the foyer where you could sit while taking off snowy boots, or in the kitchen used as storage for crocks of grain and other staples, or on the covered porch by the entry where you could place groceries or packages while opening the front door...

Early American New England Chippendale era tall chest-on-chest. Circa 1770-1785. Cherry/pine secondary. Size: 68.25 inches ht. x 40 inches wide x 20 inches deep. This chest has an upper section with four graduated drawers, while the lower section has three similarly graduated drawers. The drawer fronts have a thumbnail molded edge. The brasses are later replacements. The entire chest is supported on a boldly scalloped bracket base...

A Large Roycroft Oak Arts & Crafts Frame. Unusual form with applied maple leaves, attributed by a well known Roycroft researcher to be by the Head Carpenter, William Roth. Distinctive Roycroft Construction, as shown. Measures about 29 1/8" by 24 1/8" and weighs over twelve pounds. Rare find.

The graphic impact of this blanket box with paint decoration is absolutely stunning. It is swirl decorated in black over a yellowish-putty color, and virtually all the paint is intact. Adding to the special nature of this piece is its dainty size, measuring 31 inches long by 15 1/4 inches deep by 13 1/2 inches tall. Further, the box has a molded base, and an ogee molded edge around the top. The wood is poplar, often used in Pennsylvania and Ohio...

Gustav Stickley Arts and Crafts Morris arm chair. Circa 1904-1907. Oak, in a dark brown finish. Replaced cushions. Red decal. Size: 30 3/8 inches width x 36 inches depth x 39 1/2 inches ht. Adjustable, two-positions, reclining slat back.

An exceptional ladder back Delaware Valleycahir with 4 slats, original red wash and splint seat, and well developed turnings.

The chair is in excellent original condition and structurally sound. As to be expected there are some losses to the splints. The height is 43", with a width of 20" and a depth of 18". The seat depth is 16" and 18 1/2" high.

An American Arts and Crafts Rocking Chair with a Needlepoint Seat Depicting a Flag, Eagle and Liberty 1776. Also with brass studs fastening the needlepoint and brass straps on the top slat. Height 48", Seat 24" wide. Circa 1910 and in excellent condition.

A fine 19th century classical rosewood canterbury. The four compartments separated by three rail and stile partitions with handle, enclosed by openwork lyre sides and turned corner posts with finials, all over two drawer case raised on turned feet. Wonderfully appropriate for a period music room. The two drawers likely cost the patron a pretty penny in the period and are not commonly encountered...

American Federal period mahogany lolling chair. Sparse, fine line inlay decoration. Late 18th century. Good condition. Seat height a little low from wear to legs. Seat height about 15 inches. Back height about 40 inches. Width roughly 24 inches.

Early American Chippendale period tall blanket chest. 18th century. Size: 46 1/2 inches high x 41 inches wide x 19 1/8 inches deep. New England origin with a lift top above two faux drawer fronts over three real drawers, and retaining the original snipe hinges. Fancy cut-scroll bracket base and apron. Brass bail handles are replacements. A rare and early tall blanket chest in a blonde finish.

This rope bedframe has warmth which only time and wear can give. It has head and foot boards with some extra touches such as spool posts and turned legs. It retains its bed rails making modernization a plausible option. This bedframe is a very nice example with extra details which the average bedframe of its era did not have. I conservatively date this bedframe to mid 19th century but it could be somewhat earlier, but if pushed I place date to c. 1840...

Arts and Crafts oak lamp table by L & JG Stickley. Circa 1912. Original dark brown finish and bearing a decal under the top that reads "Work of L & JG Stickley." The table has four square legs with crossed stretchers and a lower square shelf; the top is square with canted corners. Size: 30 inches x 30 inches x 29 inches ht. Good antique condition.

Pair Hepplewhite Mahogany carved Eagle inside Shield back Side Chairs, Ca. 1800, 39" high back, 19" wide, 19" deep seat, carved spread Eagle's wing within Shield back, straight legs with dovetailed stretchers and upholstered seats. The condition is good.

Beautifully made walnut American Victorian night stand with marble top. Made and signed under the marble by R. Renwick & Son of Baltimore, Maryland. R. Renwick was a cabinet maker to the wealthy, (see article in photos) and his workmanship was the finest in the area. The measurements on this table are 31" tall x 17 1/2" wide x 17 1/2" deep.
