A very handsome and hard-to-find George III navette form mahogany peat bucket. Bound with five brass bands, it still has its original brass bail or handle. This peat bucket is in excellent antique condition and appears to be all original. Measures 14.5 inches wide, 13.25" at highest point on side and dates circa 1780.
Early American New England Chippendale era tall chest-on-chest. Circa 1770-1785. Cherry/pine secondary. Size: 68.25 inches ht. x 40 inches wide x 20 inches deep. This chest has an upper section with four graduated drawers, while the lower section has three similarly graduated drawers. The drawer fronts have a thumbnail molded edge. An antique Japanese Tansu chest made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. Original hand forged iron hardware with an age old replacement lock on the bottom drawer. Hirute style drawer handles. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery with hardened wooden nails. With two side Warabite carrying handles.
Used by a merchant to store valuable small items and money.

An antique Japanese Biraki Kotansu (small chest with two hinged doors) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware and Urushi lacquer finish. The doors open to a set of 7 drawers of varying sizes. It would make the perfect side chest or bedside nightstand.

Gyohu bakus are meant to be worn on the backpack for ease of transport and organized storage.

An exceptional 19th century European carved walnut armchair with original needlepoint upholstery and nail head trim. Seat features a scene with a wolfhound guarding a sheep.
