An antique Japanese Kotansu (personal storage chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware and aged patina finish. Warabite style handles. Straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wood nails were incorporated into its design. Five drawers with a hinged security door that behind hides two small drawers.

A Fine English George II walnut chest on chest. Bookmatched, figured walnut veneered drawer facings. The top case with moulded cornice and with stop-reeded, canted corners terminating in lamb's tongue at bottom, below stops. The pulls matching with original positions. DESCRIPTION: A beautiful pair of late 19th century French carved walnut armchairs, with original gros point and petit point upholstery with nail head trim, the backrests with a central scrolling cartouche framing two maidens encircled with flowers. The seats and back are upholstered in dark blue/back fabric over a turned H-shaped stretcher base with a pierced, carved front stretcher, raised on animal paw feet. Very good condition, and the perfect complement to an Old World decor...
