An olive wood box, the lid decorated with an oval panel depicting an Italian couple, in the marquetry work typical of Sorrento. Late 19th c or around 1900. On the front is written Bellagio, meaning that the box was sold in this lovely resort by Lake Como as a souvenir. Width "8½/ 22 cm, height "2¾/ 7 cm and depth "6/15,5 cm. Condition: fine, except for the small key which is best left unturned, since it is difficult to maneuvre.

A pair of finely cast Chinese bronze gu-shaped vases, with French gilt bronze mounted bases and liners. The vases 17th/18th century, the mounts 18th/19th century. Height 16.5 cms.

DESCRIPTION: An 18th c. banister back armchair having a scalloped crest rail, turned finials, straight bottom rail, bulbous front spindles, and rush seat. Good condition with age appropriate wear, original black paint. See our listing #A-CH2 for a near match companion chair to make a pair. DIMENSIONS: 23” wide x 19.5” deep x 44.5" high; 18" seat height.

Two small different shaped photo frames. Made of steel with gold damascene. The larger in the Moorish style with arabesques in the shape of a mihrab, the small one in oval form, backsides gilt. Condition: few traces of usage, the oval one without glass. Dimension: c. 13.8 x 7.8 cm and 8.4 x 6.4 cm.

Unusual Wood Tea Caddy or Tobacco Box in the form of a doghouse with brass nails and door surround and with a brass dog sitting outside. It opens by gently lowering the dog's hinged head which releases the peaked roof form lid which opens to a tin lined interior. The whole is mounted on a plinth base with brass beading. Circa 1870, probably Black Forest.
