An unusual small sized Jumu (chinese elm) hardwood Chinese altar cabinet with hand forged brass pulls and hardware. Side panels with hand carved reticulated flowers, long underside panel carved with similar floral motif, large open interior space for storage, beautiful wood grain. Overall in excellent original condition with stunning light natural finish.

A Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) Japanese Kannon Biraki Tansu (Wedding Kimono Chest) made of beautiful aged Kiri (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) wood. The top section has two hinged doors with a special lock from the inside that secures the inside of the door.

The interior is decorated in nashiji with a still life of a flower arrangement set in a basket with a charming lifelike rabbit and autumn grass for the inner tray. The vibrant colors and designs are often seen in lacquer works from the Edo and Meiji periods...

Rare, circa 1860, English walnut tea caddy featuring nice clean lines with its only decoration being the word “TEA” inlaid in sterling silver. The lid is hinged and the interior features two separate rectangular compartments with removable wooden lids for storage. In very good antique condition with expected signs of use with some light scratches, a minor nick to the walnut finish, and a small piece of silver missing at the food of the “T”. Late 19th century brass whale oil lamp featuring a very unusual footed base with a delicately decorated edge. Has a chain for which to add a wick trimmer, snuffer, or other accoutrement. A wonderful piece for the collector, it is very good condition. Measures 19" high and 6.5 " square at the base.

The chair is in excellent original condition and structurally sound. As to be expected there are some losses to the splints. The height is 43", with a width
of 20" and a depth of 18". The seat depth is 16" and 18 1/2" high.
Three elongated light blue plaques mounted in antique brass bow frames with screw-on backs. The plagues measure about 2" wide x 3" high, and are in excellent condition. The brass frames measure about 2 1/2" wide by 5 3/4" tall and are also in excellent condition. On the back of each plague is the impressed WEDGWOOD mark, and each also has the lone letter X impressed...
