Early American Chippendale period tall blanket chest. 18th century. Size: 46 1/2 inches high x 41 inches wide x 19 1/8 inches deep. New England origin with a lift top above two faux drawer fronts over three real drawers, and retaining the original snipe hinges. Fancy cut-scroll bracket base and apron. Brass bail handles are replacements. A rare and early tall blanket chest in a blonde finish.

Early American New England Chippendale era tall chest-on-chest. Circa 1770-1785. Cherry/pine secondary. Size: 68.25 inches ht. x 40 inches wide x 20 inches deep. This chest has an upper section with four graduated drawers, while the lower section has three similarly graduated drawers. The drawer fronts have a thumbnail molded edge. The brasses are later replacements. The entire chest is supported on a boldly scalloped bracket base...

Main top drawer lock plate has a flying Phoenix with surrounding drawer lock plates featuring Paulownia leaves from which the bird drinks the collected dew to get its energy. An antique Japanese 2 section Nagoya Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress) wood. Cast iron hardware including the Warabite handles. Upper half features 2 pairs of sliding doors and a set of three side by side drawers. Lower half has 2 sliding doors with 2 side by side drawers. The shallow design would accommodate the narrowest of hallways.

A single section chest used for Kimono storage consisting of 4 large drawers, 2 small drawers and a security door behind which 4 smaller drawers were used to store valuables.

An antique Japanese Kake Suzuribako (aka calligraphy merchant box) made of Kuri (Chestnut) wood. All original finish and hand forged iron hardware. The remainder of the top has a slot where coins were inserted to be kept in the upper drawer out of the sight of wondering eyes.
