This is a very nice bronze dagger or spear blade from the ancient near East - probably from Northern Iran circa 1200 BC or earlier. It has a thin, flat blade with a reinforced midrib. It has a perforation in the tang which is covered by the patina. It also has some slight bending in the blade which is why I have listed it for such a low price. It does not appear to be damaged or repaired in any other way. It measures roughly 23 cm in length and weighs 84 grams.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this ancient Greek terracotta figure of a Boeotian maiden (possible Aphrodite) from the Classical Period. She stands on a rectangular plinth with her left hand on her stomach and her right hand resting on what is possibly the edge of a piece of furniture or the top of a large jug. She wears a garment that ancient Greek women at the height of the Classical period wore with a nicely styled beaded necklace and flowing hair...

This is a socketed iron spear from the ancient middle east. This was part of a lot including Bactrian and Luristan artifacts. I do not have an exact cultural attribution for this piece but it is similar to pieces from northern iran in the early part of the first millenium BC. It is 39 cm long and weighs 316 grams. It is intact with no evidence of repair.

This piece features a grapevine design around the perimiter with the highlight being the artisan signature on the bottom of the p;iece. 2 5/8" tall by 7 5/8" across the handles. Greek, 4th Century B.C. Provenance provided to purchaser.

Oversize axe of rhomboid shape with a short vertical and a broader horizontal blade. Roughened surface and a central perforation to insert a pole. The use of the item is unclear, also in view of the considerable weight of four kilogram. The type is described in the literature as axe hammer and also as double axe. A fine Roman bronze arm, bent at the elbow, with well-definewd fingers and fingernails. 2nd/3rd Century A.D. 5 3/4 inches from elbow to tip of fingers, 3 1/4 inches from above the elbow. From an old New Jersey collection.

Large ornate vessel with wide funnel-shaped mouth and vertical handles alternating with raised left hands. The hands enhanced with stripes. Dots on the back of the hand, the forefinger and the little finger.

Black-figure lekythos decorated with two heraldic lions looking back over their shoulders. Rosette and dots in the field.
The vase belongs to the Dolphin Group, which is named after the leaping dolphins on the shoulder. Our piece shows the later decoration of large inverted lotus wreaths.

Flat-bottomed aryballos with two neatly incised male busts showing big eyes and pointed chins. The hair is tied in a tuft (krobylos) by a fillet and falls gently along the shoulder.
The busts alternate with geese. Rosettes in the field. Radiating strokes on shoulder and rim.
Best parallel for the style is Utrecht Univ. 60, Male sirens facing swan, in: D.A. Amyx, Corinthian Vase-Painting of the Archaic Period (1988), 180:B-7.

Ancient Greek circa 5th century B.C. finely hand made bronze bowl with carinated rim. Some areas of interior and exterior have visible traces of gold gilding.
MEASUREMENTS: Diameter: 14 cm (5 1/2 in). Height: 5.7 cm (2 1/4 in).
CONDITION: The bowl is in reasonably good condition considering its age, except for one corroded area of the bottom rim and the base, as can be seen in the pictures. Nice patina, showing the age and usage...

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this interesting example of an ancient Greek bronze arrowhead. This arrowhead was manufactured by one of the Greek states ca. 600 - 200 B.C. This arrowhead is of the trilobite type and remains intact with lovely patina. The blade measures 27mm in length. Ca. 600 - 200 B.C. Ex-McInnis collection.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this detailed ancient Greek bronze coin. The coin features the a choice patina with the head of an emperor on the obverse. The reverse of the coin features a standing figure flanked with Greek text on either side. This is a lovely example that measures 3/4" in diameter. Ex-McInnis Collection.

Nice black-figure lekythos with men, two of them seated on fold chairs (okladiai). The men show nicely rendered heavy heads. They wear cloaks, some with faded bordures or dots, two of them holding staffs (?)
