A very nice assortment of Ancient Near Eastern cylinder seals, Mesopotamia, ca. 2200-1800 BC.

The selection consists of three Old Babylonian and Isin Larsa types with a worshipper before the throne of Ea, along with provincial types. They are carved in different types of hardstones

The largest seal measure 28 mm. and the smallest ca. 15 mm.

Condition: Largest intact group with some wear, the larger seal with chips.

An impressive triangular stamp seal with knob handle in a creamy white stone, Western Mesopotamia, probably c. 3rd. millenium BC.

Extremely large for type and with a deep relief engraving of an animal and with other symbols etc in the fields.

Size: About 40 mm. on each side! - 16 mm. tall. Surely the largest we've had or even seen of the type.

Condition: Very fine, a minor chip to one corner and some even wear, not affecting the base depiction.

A banded agate stone seal, polished to a perfect oval scaraboid shape with a slightly pointed center, Neo-Babylonian, c. 8th-6th. century BC.

The stone with particularly nice patterns of multi-layered bands. On the base it's carved with a worshipping priest standing before the alter of the principal deity Marduk.

A fine depiction of a Mesopotamian Cylinder seal in black stone, Neo-Assyrian Epire, c. 9th.-7th. cent. BC.

The seal is carved with the enthroned Great King or Ashur himself seated, drinking from a cup in front of a table with a large wine amphora or vase. Behind the table there's a standing attendant with a Fan.Crescent and star symbols in the fields.

A lovely extra large stamp seal Bifacial figural type in black steatite or chlorite, c. 4th. millenium BC.

The seal was reportedly found at 'Amúg Ebene' in ancient North-Western Mesopotamia, present day Turkey, close to the ancient city of Antioch.

A fine larger stamp seal with a handle in cream stone, made during Hittite expansion in the Hittite style, c. 2nd. millenium BC.
