Large North African red-ware fragment depicting a leaping panther with detailed head and fearsome paws.
Excellent modeling of the musculature and great coat pattern rendered with small circles.
On the other end a hound chasing a sheep or goat.
The fragment belongs to the rim of a lanx, a larger and rather rare rectangular platter. The outer edge is decorated with a beaded pattern.

Wonderful mirrow either solid silver or a very thick silver plating - we think it's solid silver with some cuprite oxidation on the surface. A very interesting piece and quite attractive!

Condition: Superb for type, should enhance if cleaned.

Large and well-designed Roman lamp with the planta pedis impressed on the base.
Bailey type G, Deneauve type VG lamp, characterized by bow-shaped lug handles on each side of the body. The concave discus with a central filling hole; the air hole pierced near the nozzle channel.

This extremely rare frame of bone is from the 1st century through Byzantine. The Roman goddess has independent movable balls in the cage and is extremely delicate and very fine. It was purchased in Luxembourg. Many were found by the world famous Dr. Allen Heflin while he was stationed in Rome. This is a once-in-a-lifetime find that took me many years to assemble. An attractive silver dress pin with a finely sculptured finial, Roman, 1st.-3rd. century BC.

The head of the pin a small figurine of a lion with enlarged phallus. Eyes probably originally inlaid.

A lovely and sizeable terracotta bust on a plint of a muscular young man, Time of Hadrian, ca. mid 2nd. century AD.
A very attractive bust with a wide strong chest and painted facial details in black pigment. His hair is rather long and he is arising from a round plint as was the typical for the Imperial Roman busts.
The bust is possible depicting Antinous, Hadrians famous lover.
