A Chinese ruyi scepter carved from beautiful zitan wood, a symbol of good fortune used in Buddhist ceremonies. "Ruyi" directly translates into "as you wish". It has been ornately carved with lingzhi mushrooms on the head and running down the curved handle, which ends in a gnarled root form. High quality carve work. Beautiful distinctive grain of zitan wood.

Antique Chinese Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644, wooden figure. The figure is wearing a red robe with gold leaf. The robe is patterned with clouds and dragons. The face retains the facial hair. The back has a carved rectangular opening where the figure would have held sacred texts, imbuing to it a spiritual life. It measures 26" tall. Lacquered pedestal base is included to hold the figure upright.
Antique Chinese Hardwood box with hinged wood doors, an interior shelf and a charming decoration on the bottom of two monkeys pulling on a shield with their tails interlaced in a scrolling pattern.There is a small handle on the top of the box with small feet. It measures 13" wide 8" deep 10" tall.

Carved bamboo statuette representing Shou Lao, Chinese god of longevity. The god is represented standing, holding a peach in one hand and a stick ending in a mushroom Ling-zhi in the other, all the attributes of long life. The carving is precise, as can be judged by the regular parallelism of the hairs of the beard. The sculpture is elegant, the movements of the dress are harmonious and the finishes are of good quality. The bamboo has a nice old patina...
