This is Sashiko used for a martial artist of the Taisho era. This is a natural indigo plant, and Kinari--colored lining cotton is put on the cotton of a dyed face. And it is done Sashiko. This is Indigo dye cotton dotyugi coat of the Edo era(1800-1868). It is made of hand-spun and hand-woven and natural indigo dyed cotton.
It is katazome, and, as for the lining, the motif of the plover is very beautiful.
It has a few thin stains. However, as a whole it is in very good condition.

Tsugaru kogin kimono made of vegetable indigo dye hemp whose warps and wefts are hand plied. It is made in Tsugaru region in Aomori prefecture in Tohoku district. This kogin is called "Nishi-Kogin" which has stripes in shoulders. It is for enforcement of shoulders for a charcoal maker who brings a burden. Kogin is a kind of sashiko and its yarn is white cotton, making the hemp kimono warmer with thick sashiko in the colder district. It has several different kinds of kogin pattern...
This is very a haori coat of the patchwork of the paper and silk of the highest class in Edo period(1800-1867) . This is an item of a rare museum class.

This is long Coat which Kagokaki wore for Edo period. This is dyed repeatedly many times by a beautiful natural indigo plant. It is an original act in this respect. Therefore an indigo plant is left densely. As for this which this is Katazome of most Tsutsugaki and some parts, and is produced, cotton spun by hand is thick.
