This is horse cover textile at the Meiji era.(1868-1912) It draws in the indigo dye by the technique of tsutsugaki. It is a very vivid, impressive motif. It is wonderful horse cover textile. This is the one in the Tohoku region. It uses it at the wedding. This is rolled in horse's trunk. The bride rides on this horse. There is little damage in the edge. There is a little stain. Antique Japanese Bamboo Steamer with two sections and a large bamboo handle. The lid and top section are removable. 17.5 inches (44.5cm)h x 16 inches (40.5cm) wide.

This late 19th or early 20th century carved ivory netsuke is 2 ¼” long, 1 5/8” wide and half an inch thick. It depicts a fish which has an inlaid eye wrapped in a bamboo leaf. The workmanship is realistic and superb. The signature “Hokutai” is on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

This 19th century carved ivory netsuke of a lotus pod is 1 ¾” high, 1 5/8” wide and 1 ¼” thick. There are six holes on the bottom of the pod and six small movable seeds are inside. Aside of some hairline cracks, it is in excellent condition.

This very well carved gold gilt wood Buddha (Japanese name is Amida Nyorai or Amida Butsu.) is 18 ½” high, 7” wide and 6” thick (including base), the Buddha is 11 ¾” high, 3 ½” wide and 3” thick. It is a mid or late 18th century piece. His right hand facing outward means wisdom and his left hand facing downward means compassion. The halo on the back is missing. Aside from missing small pieces on the base and gold gilt lacquer lost from the robe, it is in excellent condition.

This fireman's sashiko coat is the one in Edo period. (1850) It is dragon's motif in the indigo dye cotton. It is very impressive.
