An unusual late 19th C Chinese teapot of quatrefoil form applied with a bamboo form spout set opposite a bamboo handle. Decorated around the sides in shades of blue and white enamel with flower heads on mint green scrolling foliage, the flattened cover is similarly decorated and surmounted by a leaf form knop. A wonderful item for the collector of Chinese porcelains. Measures: 8" long, 4.25" wide, and 2.5" high.
A pair of Arita, probably the Higuchi kiln at Nangawara, Celadon square form mukuzuke, decorated with alternating panels of Immortals and a Landscape, probably an evocation of Penglai (Horai-san) the Isle of the Immortals all painted in a combination of kinsai gilding combined with iron red and green enamels.
