A beautifully carved and polychromed alabaster figure of a standing female divinity, wearing a dark green sari scattered with a gilt floral pattern, both hands held out towards the front, youthful face with large eyes and simple gilt diadem encircling her black-painted hair, Indian, 19th century. Size: 31" high x 13 1/2" wide x 7 1/2" deep.

Full cast roe deer with elongated body, the curved neck slightly prone. Pointed tail. The head small and pointed, horns and ears cut out in an X-shape. Thin legs with kinked hooves. Right hind leg broken off.

Serene 17th Century Japanese standing gold gilt Amida Buddha. Original gold gifting layered over beautifully hand carved gently wood. The buddha stands upon its original lotus base in which both feet sit and slot into the base. The golden rays rises from behind rising in all directions. Carved at a very high level with detail seen down to the smallest touch. In all, there are three removable section. Stunning natural patina that has age very well with Temple incense...

Like all our pieces also this piece is genuine, the body of the piece is in a perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The only problem of this extremely rare excavated piece is that to the outside the surface of the glaze during hundreds of years was heavily attacked by aggressive soil. To the inside of the piece there still are remainders of the former very attractive oilspot decoration. Jian Kilns, Fujian or Henan province, 12th - 13th century. Excavated in Indonesia. Chinese Cizhou type small bowl, with a character "Yuan" on the inside bottom of the bowl. Yuan Dynasty. Condition: there are some glaze chips on the rim, no other flaw beside these. Diameter: 4-3/8".

Antique Japanese bronze shokudai (candle stick for a Buddhist shrine) in the form of a crane standing on a turtle's back. In it's beak, the crane holds a lotus stem with blossoms, buds and unfurling leaves. The different aspects of a lotus symbolize the stages of the Buddha's life. The crane and turtle together symbolize longevity as well as the opposites of Heaven and Earth. This shokudai has especially intricate details...

Large Korean wooden statue of the Amida Buddha or Amitābha, also known as "The Buddha of Infinite Light." He was covered in an oyster shell pigment in order to smooth out the woodgrain, a red lacquer was applied over it, and finally a gold leaf topcoat was applied. He is typically shown in a standing position and is oddly portrayed seated in this statue. 19th century Size: 36" height, 23.5" width, 19.5" depth

Late Meiji period (1890s 1912) Japanese buffalo horn kushi (hair comb) with lacquer decoration of berries and flowers, design continuing on the back.
