Meiji (1868-1912) Japanese Cloisonne Box with Flowers Chinese Inspiration - Attributed to Hayashi Tanigoro 林谷五郎

It is 3.85 inches (9.8 cm) tall measured with stand and 2.6 inches (6.7 cm) tall measured without stand by 3.9 inches (10 cm) wide and 5.3 inches (13.4 cm) in length. It is 1.8 Lb.

The box does not close tightly. It is tarnished...

INKSTONE

Quite a simple Korean inkstone hand-carved out from stone, early 20th century, approx. 11 x 6.5 x 1cm (4.33 x 2.55 x 0.39in). Hollowed surface by the frictioning of ink stick for long years use as is...

Guan yin in cast copper alloy. Incised decoration. True old patina. A little worn normally see pictures. No restoration. She must have been holding an object in her hand which is missing today. Hight: 15cm.

Thick cast bronze censer depicting a goose spreading its wings. I believe it is cast in two parts separately, the goose and the vessel then brazed together. Interesting subject, very nice finish and chasing. Old patina. No gilding, no restoration. Width the largest 14,5cm.

Traces of usage...

A massive, solid cast silver bracelet of the finest workmanship of the Achaimenid period, 5th-4th century BC.

The bracelet or armring would have been made for a very highranking / rich costumer in antiquity, since these are usually hollowcast, when this thickness and size. The silver bracelet with faux-twist and twisted wire details to the body, finials with serpent- or Lion head detailing.

Rare porcelain dish decorated in cobalt blue underglaze. In the center the prestigious mark VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) of the Dutch East India Company. The decoration of flowers and birds in cartridges inspired by the Chinese style of the late Ming.This dish was created for a member of the powerful company. Japan Genroku period end of 17th century. Perfect condition. Diameter: 35 and 35,5cm.

Extremely rare and probably unique porcelain and gilt copper ewer.The body of the object is a Japanese porcelain covered pot of the 2nd part of the 17th century around 1660 coming from Arita of the Kakiemon kilns but maybe from the Yambeta kiln. The pot was transformed in Europe into a teapot by the addition of a handle supporting a horse and a spout forming a dragon in gilded and embossed copper, the lid is formed by a swan. All these animals in relief are certainly in cast bronze...

A nice Chinese Southern Song dynasty brown glaze tea caddy, Hongtang ware, Fujian province. A famous kiln produced tea ceremony items during Song to Yuan dynasty. A lot of Hongtang pieces are indicated as Jizhou ware by misunderstanding because of the similar clay and glaze. Ht. 11cm. 18th Century Thai Buddha Clay Core Overlaid by 22ct Gold and Silver with Incised Detail

This is a Japanese antique Echigo jyofu Hemp Akita region. It is a Benihana(Safflower dyeing ) Katazome child Kyogen costume from the Edo period.It is a set of kataginu and hakama. Children's Kyogen costumes are very rare. There are a few light stains and a few very small holes. But overall, it's in very good condition. Recommended for your antique collection. Size::Kataginu : width 50cm / length 54.5cm :: Hakama width 61cm: length 77cm

Painting on woven paper. An unusual and surprising technique. The paper is cut out then this woven paper is painted. However there is a subtlety because in some places only the vertical strips are painted and not the horizontal ones which shows us colored squares alternating with unpainted squares which gives a blurred effect anticipating our "pixels" and which, I think, gave the illusion of a woven fabric...

A small Chinese brass handwarmer with pierced lid and carrying handle. The lid has many vent holes, some of which are shaped like stars. and these organize the round holes into what looks like many plum blossoms. The warmer measures 3 1/4' high (5 1/2" high with handle up) x 5" in diameter, and dates to the late 19th Century. There is a Chinese character chiseled on the base which translate to "to set on fire"...
