Antique Japanese black lacquered cha tansu (tea display cabinet) with fabulous, intricate inlay designs of temple scenes, peacocks, and floral motifs. From the southernmost Japanese island known as Ryukyu.

Antique Japanese 2 section isho tansu (clothing chest) constructed of Kiri (paulownia) and Sugi (cedar) wood. With hand-forged iron lock plates, hardware, and handles. The upper section of the piece holds two open compartments side by side, and five shallow drawers of various size. One side of the chest has a lift-away door and the other with pair of sliding door panels framed with shou sugi ban panels...

The pipe made of bamboo, the ends made of ivory. Engraved paktong saddle and a plain stoneware bowl with maker's mark. China, late 19th century. L. 49 cm (20 inch). Condition: age cracks in the ivory, wonderful patina.

Antique middle eastern silk rug with scrolling floral design on a dark blue ground. late 19th early 20th century. It measures 44" by 56".

An antique Japanese Ranma (transom) made of Akita Sugi (northern Japan Cryptomeria) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. The frame was finished in a black Urushi lacquer while the design was hand carved in relief on both sides. It depicts a scene of a male and female flying crane (each symbolizing 1,000 years of long life and together symbolizing a harmonious partnership) gliding through a forest of gnarly pine trees (symbolizing longevity)...

Burmese sterling silver dish with foliate edges, embossed kneeling figures over a scrolling vine background along the edges, a central image of a peacock with a large halo of feathers ending in scrolling vines and tulips.

Adorable embroidered silk children's jacket. Considering the elaborate embroidery on both sides this was probably a festival jacket. China, late 19th/early 20th century. Dimensions: H. 35 cm , W. 83 cm. Condition: expected wear, discoloring, stains and a few holes in the silk top layer. The glass eyes of the dragon on the back are missing.

Antique kazak style middle rug made from wool, hand knotted. Typical kazak style colors of red, blue and yellow with accents of green and other colors. The central medallion is blue and flanked by scrolling yellow vines outlined in pale green. Dates from late 20th century. It measures 10'11" by 7'7".

Long Japanese half section Mizuya or buffet cabinet, constructed with Hinoki and Sugi wood.

Antique Chinese dark Zitan hardwood stand with two levels, nicely carved legs, beautiful woodgrain. Early 20th century Showa Period. Size: 20" height, 6.25" width

Antique Japanese half section Mizuya, or kitchen buffet tansu, made of Hinoki (cypress) and Sugi (cedar) wood frame. The chest has bold Keyaki (elm) front drawers along the bottom and right side with copper handles. The large sliding front panels are reinforced with attractive horizontal slats, and open to the large interior compartment.

An antique Japanese Choba Tansu made entirely of Hinoki (Cypress) wood. All original bronze and iron hardware. Six drawers and a pair of hinged doors that open to a merchant books and records storage area with vertical separators and a removable shelf. Thick wood drawer construction and the Tansu was made using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails.

Antique Japanese unusual Butsudan (Shrine), made from solid Keyaki Hardwood. Interesting lattice style sliding carved doors with glass, gorgeous burl Keyaki panels, four drawers, and a unique pull-out shelf that stores away unnoticed. Great original condition and finish. Late Meiji period (1868-1912). Size: 68" H, 35" W, 22" D

Original blond two section Antique Japanese Isho tansu. Beautiful natural kiri wood used in the entire construction of the piece. Kiri has desirable breathing characteristics for a clothing tansu. Wonderful original black iron Full Moon hardware with locking side handles. Overall in wonderful condition with top and sides of both pieces finished nicely. Two Beautiful late 19th to early 20th C. Signed Chinese porcelain snuff bottles. Charming detail, animated. One with colorful figures against green-colored ground, other is with nine lions playing a ball. Both are handcrafted but both without top. Both in excellent condition. Dimensions: H: 2-1/3".

A beautiful 19th/20th C. Chinese porcelain famille noire 9 dishes in a very nice wooden tray, with plum blossom motif. In excellent condition. Wood tray has a little cracking (pls. see the phote) L: 11"x11"x2"

Antique Japanese two-section kiri (paulownia) tansu with interesting kakute (squared) iron handles paired with round locks on each of its drawers.
