A definitely extremely rare Yuan Dynasty ( 1279 - 1368 ) covered porcelain box with underglaze Cobalt blue floral decoration. The cover decorated with a human figure sitting in a landscape on a rock.

Condition : One small filled chip to the cover ( which is to see on the last enlargement ) further in perfect condition, no re-paint.
Antique Japanese lacquer manju (netsuke toggle to be worn on obi), made in a round form of lacquered wood and intricately inlaid with tiny flakes of gold and shell. The inside is lacquered with a dense nishiji lacquer (made of tiny flecks of gold suspended in lacquer). Somada School.

The pair of children appear to be fragments of an old roof tile, and each one is set upon a wooden stand. The modeling of the children is exceptional, especially the character in their faces. Burmese Shan style Buddha, the slender figure with a triangular face and broad forehead, arching eyebrows, elongated ears, and small hair curls covering a low ushnisha that is surmounted by a bud-shaped finial. The red lacquered wood figure with gilt highlights is seated on a waisted lotus throne plinth with relief deer carvings in bhurmisparsa mudra (“calling the earth to witness”).
