A 19th Century Korean kitchen jar for the storage of honey or syrup. The jar has a thick brown glaze, that thins at the edges of the cut facets, showing the lighter porcelain body of the jar. The Jar is heavily potted and measures about 4 1/2" high x 5" in diameter. The condition is very good with small chips on the inner rim and firing cracks at the bottom. There is no lid. This is Mutton-Fat White Jade Snuf Bottle of flattened, upright rectangular form with rounded, sloping shoulders, rounded neck, with a raised elongated oval footing. Undecorated, but, perfectly polished, and sporting a wonderful symmetry all around, and an even, near-flawless bright tone all throughout. Well-hollowed. It comes with a green jadeite flattened stopper. Its style is common of snuff bottles produced during the early 19th century...

He is wearing an Usobuki mask and a dancer's robe. Excellent detail and patination; he grimaces as he attempts to lift the large stone. An Arita moulded dish of shuronogata, Hemp Palm, form decorated in underglaze blue with gilt outlined enamels, somenishikide, dating to the late Mid Edo period. The dish decorated with a kachoga design evoking an image of late Winter or early Spring incorporating the Shochikubai, the Three Friends of Winter. The under-glaze blue portion of the design a Bamboo “Tree” with shattered trunk and a pair of enlarged yukiwa, snow flake roundels, to suggest seki, viewing stones...

A Japanese Arita lobed dish decorated with a dragon descending from clouds, grasping the pearl of wisdom. The back with a fuku mark. The dish dates from 1750~1790. A similar design to Chinese examples of the Yongzheng period.

Approximately 14 cm diameter. Perfect condition. A little kiln dross in the cloud.
