This Olmec translucent jade figure is 1 7/8" long. The bottom was broken off in antiquity which allows one to peer into its ancient patina and jade composition and also keeps the price affordable. The drill hole is original which is important as it is the best place to look at for authenticity. I had a jeweler install a modern 14K gold loop so I could wear it. It has excellent provenance which goes to the buyer.

Pre-Columbian Nayarit male Kokopelli ca. 300 ad, playing a wood rasp drum with a horned helmet, the Kokopelli of the prehistoric southwest was described as a man with a terribly deformed back, bent over playing a flute with magical powers and was able to communicate with the Gods, I believe this is the grandfather of the prehistoric southwest Kokopelli, meaning the legends of the Kokopelli didn't start in the southwest but much further south. Every legend had to start somewhere...

This extremely rare standing Olmec figure is 3" long and 1 1/2" wide at the shoulders. It is made from true jadeite that is semi-translucent at the right arm and shoulder. A wonderful small group of three ceramics, incl. a very large vessel shaped as a duck.

The duck vessel is around 24 cm. tall and massive, Tlatilco, Mexico, very early and rare, dating before 200 BC! One leg reattached and some minor chips. This comes with copy of the invoice from 1968!

This is a very nice solid figure blowing into a conch shell. It is attributed to the Protoclassic Nayarit culture of West Mexico, C100BC-250AD. It has the original pigments that are much brighter than the photos show. It is a beautiful patinized orange and black. There is a chip off the right rear foot. Bird-shaped with a function of a flute or ocarina once and also a vessel. In ceramic with redish glaze and decorated with incised lines.

Size: 11 cm. long and 10 cm. tall.

Condition: Very nice and intact, with smaller chips / losses to details.

This is a very unusual artifact. It is bone that has been covered with 22K hammered gold. It is 8" long. It is either a pectoral or perhaps a nose ornament. The bone is broken near the center, but is completely covered by the gold. It is from La Tolita, Ecuador C500BC-500AD. This piece was found with a gold death mask in a tomb. It was found lying next to the mask and was part of the mask. The two were separated. The mask sold for $75,000. It is from the Ken Klassen collection, Bogota.

A female Colima figure from the pre-Classic period [1200 BC-300AD]. She wears a hat, earrings, necklace and shoulder ornamentation. There are stress cracks of the arm, neck and leg which have been professionally restored. It shows strong yellow and red pigmentation. 9" high.

This is a very interesting Olmec jade maskette. It dates to 1200BC-600BC. It is 1 3/4" square. It is nicely scooped in the back. It has not been cleaned or polished. It is heavily encrusted with clay type material that will not come off with a pin prick. It does have splitting in several areas. However, the piece is solid and the cracks do not go all the way through. It is not translucent, but it is a very nice quality piece of jade...
