This is a thickly cast, powerful hollow silver bead depicting a fanged bat, perforated for wearing, should one desire. Dating to between 1000-1400 AD, the piece measures 1-1/4" in width, and sits on a custom stand, which is included. Complete and intact, in excellent original condition. Ex Arte Primitivo, 2012.

This beautiful Olmec maskette is 36mm long and 27mm wide. It is made from transparent high grade flawless quartz with very high energy. It has a very solid hole at the top center making it perfect to add a gold loop for everyday wear as a pendant. It is nicely scooped in the back. Description from Colton, "Case mask painted green or brown, with pop eyes, snout, cheeks painted with half moons or small circles. Douglas fir or juniper ruff. Kilt, sash, fox skin, and green moccasins. Body painted red with yellow shoulders, forearms and lower legs. Carriers rattle and bow and arrows. Appears in kivas in spring or in Mixed Kachina Dance." These extremely rare bone dice, from Kentucky, are 7/8" square. I purchased them directly from Tom Davis many years ago.

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta Head. Rare fragment from an early culture c 1200bc-600bc. Tlatilco is noted in particular for its high quality pottery pieces, many featuring Olmec iconography. Tlatilco figures were known for their elaborate hair styles. This Bust has the classic eyes a large detailed hair style neck piece and double spool earrings and large breasts . Size 2.25" by 1.5"

Men's Navajo turquoise single shank square blue turquoise ring. It has a square bezel with a sliver twisted wire attachment. ca. 1920-30, Size 7-7 1/2

A Veracruz life size head from 600 AD-900 AD. This figure wears a cap with head ornamentation and ear spools. The pupils and mouth are blackened with bitumen. A flesh tone slip covers the head. It is mounted on a stand. In fine conditon althought there is a minor crack on the left cheek.

A superb large example of a hand-built pottery sculpture of a coca chewer (known as a "coquero"), seated upon a four-legged stool.

He sits in an upright pose with bent arms placed on his knees. He has thin legs with broad short feet, and wears a striped sash around his otherwise nude body. The enlarged head features bulging ovoid eyes, a narrow nose, and a horisontal slit as mouth...

This is an extremely interesting artifact. It has quadruple imagery. The figures almost resemble a northwest totem. There is a different image when you turn the face upside down. There is also double imagery to the faces on the side. The same face is repeated at both ends of the stick. A lot of thought and work went into this beauty. The paint is very bold and strong. It is extremely well patinated. Carved from wood, it is 14 1/2" long...

These 16 bone pendants were found together in Smythe County, Virginia on a Hopewell site. They are all identical in form. They are all drilled from the top at an angle. Average size is 1". They are made from squirrel shoulder blades. They have excellent patina and are all very solid. This is a very rare and unusual assemblage. They are ex Tom Davis. The name of the finder goes to the buyer.

A rare Sultepec mask, possessing a great nose. This piece dates from approximately 500BC to 200Bc it measures 5 1/2" by 4" wide the nose rises 3" from the back. there appears to be a small amount of repair to the nose. there is an old auction number as well as a small tag with DeRoche on it, although I haven't spoken with Dave it is possible it was once in his gallery in San Francisco.There is a small chip on the right side of the top. This is a great mask at a great price.
