Nubian painted terracotta sarcophagus mask. With prominent facial details. Circa @ 300 B.C. Mounted. 16 X 13 inches. with frame, 26 inches X 21 inches. Ex. Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, South Orange, New Jersey. Said to have been purchased from an old New Jersey estate.
Faience shabti for Hathor-em-achet. Depicted mummiform, with hands emerging from tightly fitting garment, wearing the false beard and seed sack strung over his left shoulder. 30th Dynasty, 380-340 B.C. Small chip on nose. A choice example of a of a large Wadj Sceptre in brown hardstone, with the stone aiming to imitate rolled papyrus.
The scroll is widest at the top, where there is a neck below the faux loop for suspension. The base tapers into a softened point. Such an amulet would have been for ritual buriel.
