The long, conical shaped, tapering body with prominent horizontal bands and lug handles. Late Period, 26th-30th DYNASTY, 688-343 B.C. 6 1/4 inches high. Two small chips on top. Mounted. Some photos illuminated. Purchased on the Paris art market. Said to be from an old French collection.

This is a fine ancient Egyptian Scarab, 1200 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 7/16” long (11 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup. The bottom is a scarab pushing up the sun, with cobras on either side.

Tall mummiform servant of the dead in superb glossy green faience, hands held to chest holding crook and flail, wearing royal beard, pillar up reverse side which helps us date this to the 27th/30th Dynasty, and glypthic text that can be seen on the picture.

Rare fragment of a large faience sistrum. The fragment is the upper part of a large faience sistrum with two hawks above side by side bearing the sun disk. It is seldom to find a sistrum which is surmounted with gods or sacred animals. A sistrum with a similar upper part is in the Eaton College Myer Collection (ECM1693), see last picture.

Wooden animal sarcophagus, perhaps intended for a serpent, fashioned as a shrine with nice cavetto cornices on top and a vertical sliding door in front.
Carved from a single piece of cedar with interior grooves to fit the front panel.
These kinds of shrines could house mortuary statues, mummified remains of animals or symbols associated with a particular deity.

This is really a fantastic fragment of a faience Isis, sitting on a lion throne, nursing her son Horus.
The whole throne, supported by two stringing lions, is well preserved. The lions are extremely fine
and you can see every detail. Dating is between Third Intermediate Period to Late Period.
I think it looks a little bit Nubian, than it is 25th Dynasty...

Ancient egyptian carnelian scarab amulet 2,6 cm

Scarab amulets were used for their magical rejuvenating properties by both the living and the dead. Scarabs were used by living individuals as seals from the start of the Middle Kingdom (ca. 2055 BCE) onwards. Interesting Egyptian shabti inscribed with black hieroglyphs reading: “The Osiris Pa-mel”.
The figurine wears a tripartite wig and holds agricultural implements in the crossed hands.
The modeling is crude as with other known examples, the back is flat. Thin greenish glaze on a white crumbly body material...

Material faience.

The shabti is made from faience and has a mummie shaped body with visible hands, the left hand holding a hoe, the right hand a plow and a bag over his shoulder. The figure stands on a base plate and leaning against a back pillar.

The inscription reads: The ...
