A superb condition larger iron key, European, Late Medieval, c. 13th.-14th. century.

The key with a doomed bow and the stem ending in a long spike. The bit with a cruciform slot. Probably a passage door key.

Size: 14,6 cm.

Condition: Extremely fine, completely intact with superficial black iron patina and fine metal beneath.

A large and impressive key of the c. 15th. century design with an oval bow and a tappering stem. The wide bit with a flat design. Very attractive!

Important large decorated iron belthook with key ring, Late Gothic, c. late 16th. century.

The fine belt hook with iron cut decoration on the front and the bended hook on the back. The hook with a large key ring for multible keys, sustained with a workable screw when keys are suspended to the ring.

An late renaissance or baroque period Iron Padlock, European, ca. 16th.-17th. century.

Cast and wrought lock. Very beautiful with an arched moveable part and a keyhole at one end. The lock was cobber braized or plated in the renaissance manor and much cobber can still be spotted in parts of the surface (see pictures).

Size: 13,5 cm. long and around 7 cm. high.

A nice small collection of 19 seal bullae stamped in lead, dating from c. 12th.-14th. century for the oldest up to c. 17th.-18th. century!

Interesting group incl. several with Coat of Arms and perhaps also city stamps.

A massive key with a large, enforced bit with elaborately carved slots. The stem and oval bow decorated in the gothic manor. Finely patinated with remnants of copper and gold from previous guilding...

Size: 13,5-14 cm. on each side and very thick.

Condition: Intact and choice, with minimal detoriation of the glaze.

Probably made in German with a complicated bit and very large size.

Lenght: 17 cm. and the bow is around 8 cm. wide. The weight is stunning 476 grams.

An early lock with a perfectly preserved locking mechanism. A snap lock with two bolts for extra security.

Size: c. 18,5 cm. long and 18,7 cm. wide.

Provenance: Danish Private collection of Grethe Pedersen, Ledøje, Denmark, ca. 1950-1997. Purchased at Ole Jensen, Antique Dealer, 1969.
The largest key in the collection for the type and period, and fitting a large family chest or trunk in oak, mid 16th. century.

Very attractive key with a Gothic design and heavy reenforced bit. Remnants of old coppering to the details.

A wonderfully preserved massive Iron hatch with lock for an oven or a chimney, European, Renaissance, ca. 1480-1520.

The hatch is finely decorated with large attached rosettes and rivets and the still functioning lock ends in a twisted grib in the gothic form. Possibly Danish or Northern German and comes from an esteemed Danish private collection.

Size: 42 cm. long and 27 cm. wide.

A lovely finial of an Eagles head, European, Gothic style, renaissance, c. 16th. century or earlier, mounted as a part of an attractive double iron coat hook and plate, dated 1823.

The substantial finial still with remnants of old gilt and the iron coat hook, finely dated and initialized in the late 18th. century manor. A nice marriage, probably made in the late 18th.-early 19th. century.

A very nice and elaborate iron key of the Venethian openwork style, fitting for a casket or jewelry box, Venice, 15th.-16th. century.

An interesting version of this type with a complicated iron cut bow with an octagonal web motif and a spendid finial for a key-ring at the top. Nice piece with remnants of copper inlays in the bow and stem.

Antique Medieval 12th-15th century A.D. hand-forged iron sickle, with slender blade and short flat tang.

This type of sickle was part of the equipment of mounted warriors, a tool useful during military expeditions to cut the grass for the horse. A knight should also have a leather or canvas bucket for watering the horse.

A very rare and large limestone sculptural head of Christ, French Scool, probably 11th. century to 12th. century, early in the period! This piece was bought in Albi and is reportedly from Tolouse.

Lovely archaic medieval features of the dead or suffering christ with his eyes closed. He is looking almost peacefully, with his head slightly twisted to a side and pronounced lips, a thin / hungry look and a short beard. The piece probably from a niche, with the reverse half-finished.
