A finely carved cylinder seal in brown serpentine stone, Mesopotamia, Neo-Assyrian Empire, c. 9th.-8th. cent. BC.

The seal is carved with an interesting beast, probably winged horse or Bull beside a large rosette symbol of the Sun-God. Attractive!

Size: 22 mm. and 11 mm. thick.

Condition: Near Extremely fine.

Provenance: The Karl Müller collection, Germany 1950-1977. Comes with original imprint and COA.

A lovely Pre-Dynastic / late Neolithic gable seal with a an artful engraving, Mesopotamia, 3rd.-2nd. millenium BC.

Carved in a beautiful mottled grey stone, gable shape almost scaraboid shape, hence the late dating. The seal carved with an animal fighting a snake - probably a Manguster or a fox, above a Lizzard. Really nice, lively carving!

A lovely extra large stamp seal Bifacial figural type in black steatite or chlorite, c. 4th. millenium BC.

The seal was reportedly found at 'Amúg Ebene' in ancient North-Western Mesopotamia, present day Turkey, close to the ancient city of Antioch.

The seal is disc-shaped and carved with a fierce predator, probably a Lion, on one side and with a Deer standing by a stylized tree and pierced from above with a long spear.

Interesting and impressive large stamp seal of the hemispheric form so popular in the late Ubaid/Uruk period in Mesopotamia.

The seal is carved with the image of a bird or animal headed demon walking. Really high relief and artfully done. Also interesting, the surface of the seal is drilled with small holes (not deep) as a sort of decoration.

An impressive triangular stamp seal with knob handle in a creamy white stone, Western Mesopotamia, probably c. 3rd. millenium BC.

Extremely large for type and with a deep relief engraving of an animal and with other symbols etc in the fields.

Size: About 40 mm. on each side! - 16 mm. tall. Surely the largest we've had or even seen of the type.

Condition: Very fine, a minor chip to one corner and some even wear, not affecting the base depiction.

A fine quality stamp seal with carved handle and a square seal base, probalbly no earlier than 2nd. mill. BC.

Interesting and unclassified blackstone button stamp seal, carved with cross and pellets, c. 4th. millenium BC.

Probably Mesopotamian or from ancient near east, carved in quite high relief in a nice jet-black stone.

Size: 19-20 mm.

Condition: Near fine, the seal has a fine and intact imprint, with an ancient loss / damage to the upperside of the seal over the loop, which is also intact.
