Recent research clearly indicates that highly advanced city cultures allready existed in the Ubaid period of Anatolia and Syria in the early 4th. millenium BC and perhaps even before that. This predates the Mesopotamian Uruk period, so it's a question who inspired who?.

A highly interesting and beautiful Redstone (Jasper?) Scaraboid, Levantine / Holyland, 1st. millenium BC.
This seal predates the Greco-Persian period of Scaraboids and was made during the Neo-Assyrian period, ca. 10th.-8th. century BC.
The seal is engraved with a complicated pattern, like multible Swaztikas or perhaps a scetched bird (?). Very sharp and attractive engraving

A very rare tall Mesopotamian cylinder seal made in a fine shell type of material, Djemdet Nasr / early Dynastic cylinder seal with wavy line decor. About 3000 - 2750 BC.
A very attractive seal decorated in low relief with a sort of brocade pattern; our clay did stick a bit, so it would be possible to make a better imprint of this.

A wonderful massive seal with fine engravings, 4th.-3rd. mill. BC.
With the almost square seal plate and the type of handle this seal is the proto-type of the later Neo-Hittite seals, but this one much earlier. The base engraved with a large Deer with large Antler and on top, a smaller stag or horned animal, and a 3rd. animal in the corner, perhaps a hunting dog.

The seal is carved with an interesting beast, probably winged horse or Bull beside a large rosette symbol of the Sun-God. Attractive!
