Bronze ring dating from 8-6th century BC made in Northern Italy by Villanovian culture named from a typical settlement discovered in 1853 at Villanova, near Bologna. Wonderful artifact with rich green patina, in excellent shape for a 2700 year old object. The piece comes from the Koutalakis collection. Can actually be worn as ring - the inner diameter is 15.5 mm, which corresponds to ring size 4.

This is a beautiful, authentic Roman period single pendant earring made with solid gold. It dates from the 1st-3rd century AD. The pendant part is decorated with a green glass bead, a finely-crafted filigree gold tubular bead, and a lovely little pearl that still has most of its lustre nearly two thousand years after it left the sea...

An authentic and ancient fine handled ROMAN Glass Bottle, excavated in Syria, ca. 3rd-5th Century A.D. Surface etched, muddy, iron stained with an open pontil base. Most likely used for Perfume or Precious Oils. Condition: intact, no damage. Size: 3.75" H. ( ca. 9.5 cm.) Provenance: From an antiquity dealer's estate. A delicate and very fine collector's piece.

Scarce and beautiful early type of pottery Oil lamp, Roman late 1st. century AD.

The lamp is of the Loeschcke Typus VIII and displays a scene with Hercules with bow and club on the discus. Very high relief! Finely stamped with makers or workshop name: CIVA.ALE(?)

Size: 10,5 cm.

Condition: Choice, a crack repaired othervise intact with nothing missing.

Provenance: From a Rheinland-Pfalz collection, 1970-1999.

Interesting and attractive gold Quatrefoil openwork pendant with small loop at one side and an engraved cross in the center, Roman-Darkage c. 4th.-6th. cent. BC.

A heavy hanger, very attractive. The gold is almost pure and around 22 carats or so. The central cross was deliberately erased at one point in antiquity, which could have been done by pagans / romans in the late antiquity.

Size: 19-20 mm. in diameter and weighing a solid 3.45 grams.

Choice red-ware rim fragment featuring a beautifully detailed lion. The feline approaches with a forward-turned front body. The head with delicate detail and a shaggy mane. Shaggy strands on the elbow joint. Excellent modeling of the musculature and great rendering of the panther-like fur pattern depicted with tiny circles. A marble head of the ancient Phrygian god of vegetation and consort of the great Mother of the Gods, Cybele. Wearing the Phrygian cap, with bulging eyes and with prominent facial details. 3 1/4 inches high. 1st-2nd Century AD. Formerly in a Tucson, Arizona old private collection.

A very nice ceramic figure of the standing female deity Artemis with her boots on, leaning with her right on a pillar, Roman Imperial, 1st.-3rd. century AD.

Darom oil lamps in one of the most interesting groups of lamps in the exhibit is the type called "Darom", refering to its manufacture area...

Bust of a young male figure with pleasant expression. The face shows large lidded eyes, a prominent nose and sensuous lips. Venus rings on the neck.
The hair is textured with short sickle-shaped curls and topped by a stippled wreath with ribbons that run along the shoulders.
The boy is dressed in a skin tight robe. Belly button indicated.
The wreath suggests a Dionysian context. The figure possibly depicts the youthful Bacchus.
Hard fired ceramic with greyish core...
