Terracotta grotesque head with typical pejorative traits of a slave.. The bearded man shows a high, furrowed brow, bulged eyebrows, and a thick, hooked nose. The thick lower lip is contoured by a moustache.

The celt with a loop in the side, fine sturdy design and probably made for warfare and not wood-carving.

The shabti is carved from sycamore wood and is presented mammiform with a tripartite wig with arms crossed over the chest. A seed sack is painted on the back. Ancient Roman, circa. 1st - 3rd century A.D. Bronze bust of Jupiter. Depicted from the shoulders up, with well-defined facial details hair, eyes, thick beard and muscular neck and shoulders. Likely was part of a handle from a Roman vessel.

HEIGHT: 42 mm (1 5/8 inches).

CONDITION: Signs of usage and wear with nice olive-green glossy patina.

Ancient Egyptian Faience Amulet Of Bes Playing Tambourine 1,5 cm

A small but vibrant blue faience amulet of the god Bes playing the tambourine with suspension loop to the top. He is an ancient Egyptian deity worshipped as a protector of households, mothers and children and childbirth. Bes combines characteristics of a dwarf and a lion.

Mosaic glass pendant in the shape of a bearded head, surmounted by a large loop for attachment to a necklace. Phenicia, or Carthage, archaic period, 350 to 200 B.C. Height: 6.1 cm. Barely visible old accident, superbly restored, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: similar pendants are shown in the Antique Glass Collection of the Louvre Museum in Paris. Publications: "Les verres antiques du Musee du Louvre", Louvre Editions, Paris 2011.

Rhyton with a cylindrical shape progressively widening toward its top to give an overall conical aspect. The rython is decorated with two feminine deities figures in relief on both sides, wearing horns and having a posture similar to the one of Osiris statues. The body of the rhyton itself is decorated with superimposed geometric designs in slight relief. The piece is made of bronze, with an encrusted green patina. This is a large, deeply molded sculpture which would have been used to make appliques for attachment to larger vessels. The piece is 4-5/8" in length and its interior depth is more than 1". It depicts a lotus pod and comes with a rubberized impression. A beautiful piece of sculpture in its own right.
