A FINE BRONZE SHORT SWORD BLADE WITH MEDIUM LONG TANG, WESTERN ASIA, 1800-1400 BC.

An extremely fine condition tanged bronze short sword with proniment shoulders and a blade with a diamondshaped crosssection. Commonly termed 'Luristani' by collectors, but from the broader Western Asia area.

Size: 36 cm.

Condition: Superb for type, wonderful smooth dark green patina.

Nice black-figure lekythos with men, two of them seated on fold chairs (okladiai). The men show nicely rendered heavy heads. They wear cloaks, some with faded bordures or dots, two of them holding staffs (?)
Branches without leaves in the field. Two rows of radiating strokes on the shoulder.

Pa-Khaas’ father was Ankh-Hapi, the name of his mother was Hathor-em-akhet. The T-shaped inscription is reading: ‘The illuminated one, the Osiris, the ‘Overseer of the Royal Ships’, Pa-Khaas, born to Hathor-em-akhet, justified.’
The figure carries a pick with the left, the right with a hoe and a rope for a small basket suspended behind the left shoulder...

Rare Etruscan neck ring with outwards-turned tapering ends and a belonging fibula.
The grayish patina and the effloresced surface denote that the silver contains additions of other metals like lead and tin.
Neck rings were known from the Celts and also used during the Villanovan period.

The reverse of the coin features a standing figure flanked with Greek text on either side. This is a lovely example that measures 3/4" in diameter. Ex-McInnis Collection.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this interesting example of an ancient Greek bronze arrowhead. This arrowhead was manufactured by one of the Greek states ca. 600 - 200 B.C. This arrowhead is of the trilobite type and remains intact with lovely patina. The blade measures 27mm in length. Ca. 600 - 200 B.C. Ex-McInnis collection.

The peak of the oil lamp features a figure that appears to be the head of a bird. The lamp measures 3.75" in length and 1.5" tall. 2nd - 1st Century B.C. Ex-McInnis collection.

Authentic ancient Luristan ancient Luristan Babylonian-type bronze sword made between 1200-1000 BC. It has a flanged hilt, and the blade is finely cast in one piece. This is an excellent example of an authentic ancient Luristan bronze dagger with an elegant form from the Bronze Age, dating back to 1200-1000 BC.

A tapering double-edged blade, a shaped hilt with an elliptical pommel, hollowed on each face for a pair of grip scales...

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this very large Egyptian granite ceremonial spear head. Spears in ancient Egypt were primarily used for hunting, however the spear never surpassed the bow and arrow. Spear heads like this one were attached to long wooden shafts by means of a tang and were often used in the military as auxiliary weapons used by charioteers once their arrows were expended. Many scenes depict military processions where the army presents large spears in succession...

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this collection of Egyptian faience amulets. The amulets range in size from 5/8" to 1" each in height. Included are an amulet of Anubis, a standing goddess, shu, a seated Isis with Horus, and the cat deity Bastet All have completely intact and unclogged suspension loops and the she amulet has a collection number remaining on the bottom. All are Egyptian late period, ca. 664 - 50 B.C...

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this quality bronze surgical instrument. The instrument was used as a probe and one end is grooved, which may have been used to hold sutures. There is a nice banded groove design toward the end and the bronze instrument has a lovely ancient olive patina. The instrument itself measures 6 5/8" in length. This comes beautify and professionally framed with a description plaque on the front. The frame size measures 11.25" x 9.25". Roman, Ca. 100 A.D.

The lamps are usually small and some have red slip. These lamps have a bow-shaped nozzle, which has a narrow ridge around its edge...
