Isetemkhebit (I) Worker – Ast-m-Ax-bit (I)

Bab el-Gasus Shabtis - Cache II - Tomb of the Priests of Amun.

Also known as Isetemkheb, Isetemkhebi, Istemkheb, Asetemachbit, Asetemakhbit.

The name means ‘Isis is in Ipu (Akhmim)

Two shabti series from Isetemkhebit have been attributed to A.126, but it is likely that they are two different ladies. Five different burials have been found named to Isetemkhebit...

This rare juglet type is typical of the form that was popular in Judea during the Iron Age II Period (circa 1000 - 586 B.C.). Nice design and beautiful coloring. This jug measures 3.5" tall. For comparable, see Ruth Amiran "Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land", (#262-264). Condition: Pristine, choice and intact with good adhesions and evidence of age remaining. Item comes with a display stand for mounting. Provenance provided to purchaser.

This is a fascinating ancient Egyptian alabaster vase, c. 1200 BC, 4" tall. It's intact and made from a rough piece of alabaster, with its cracks filled in while it was still forming underground. It was purchased at an antique market in Marin, CA.

Interesting and very rare pendant or finial of the Hittite period in Anatolia, c. mid 2nd. millenium BC.

The finial shaped with a bull head on top of another bull.

Size: 6 cm. long and 4,5 cm. tall.

Condition: Fine, earthern green patina, somewhat flaking at the edges, but sound enough.

An ancient Roman marble hand, with defined fingers and fingernails. Hand grasping, what appears to be remains of a dagger. With extensive remains of encrustations. 1st-3rd century AD. From a NYC private collection. Said to be purchased on the London art market in the late 1990s. 3 1/2 inches wide X 4 1/4 inches high. Mounted.

An important and very interesting medieval floor tile, of a 13th.-14th. century English type, used in Noble houses, churches and monasteries in the period.

Size: 13,5-14 cm. on each side and very thick.

Condition: Intact and choice, with minimal detoriation of the glaze.

Interesting large amuletic seal in marble, probably crusader period, 11th.-13th. cent.

The seal was found in Eastern Anatolia / Western Mesopotamia - old crusader land. It was described in the large collection as a 'mystery seal', due to it's strange form and depiction on the seals base.

Finely carved in white marble with uncleaned parts of brown enbedded sand. The amulet in itself had the shape of a veiled Virgin Mary...

A very large amulet of the Wedjat or Wadjet type, 'The Eye of Ra', Late period, 660-332 BC.

Nicely glazed in three differnet colors and with horisontically drilled loop.

Condition: About Very Fine, basically intact but with minor losses and wear to the glaze.

A fine Mesopotamian stone cylinder seal 4th.-3th. millenium BC.

The seal in hard black stone engraved with nice looking animals with two heads.

Large ornate vessel with wide funnel-shaped mouth and vertical handles alternating with raised left hands. The hands enhanced with stripes. Dots on the back of the hand, the forefinger and the little finger.

A terrific hardstone cylinder seal made in a fine gemstone of amethyst with rock-crystal inclusions, Neo-Assyrian period, c. 1000-800 BC.

Beautiful and extremely rare cylinder, due to the stone used. Fine depiction of the winged Ashur hunting a winged animal with a sword or spear, fishes swimming below and start above.

Size: c. 27 mm. tall and 13 mm...

Finely carved steatite stone scarab of the New Kingdom, 16th. century BC- 11th. century BC.

A huge lead/bronze head of Gorgoneion / Medusa, Roman Empire, 1st.-3rd. century AD.

Interesting oversized item, probably from a piece of furniture or a military cariot. Very high relief and stunning quality portrait, made in lead and bronze.

Size: 10,2 cm. tall and 9,3 cm. wide and weighing 1180 grams - 1,18 kilograms!
