Terracotta figure of a seated baboon, animal sacred to Thot, the Egyptian god of writing and other intellectual pursuits.
Crisp facial features with pronounced supra-orbital ridges, deep set eyes and a dominant, protruding muzzle. The cheek fur and the upper body cape are typical for male baboons. The genitalia are exposed.

A type called Trichterhalskrug in German, that often was made with an oval or round medallion at teh front. In this case the medallion is unusually crisp and elaborate for the type and depicts a coat of arms for a city or a wealthy House.

A fine cylinder seal of a very large and thick size for type and carved depiction, Mesopotamia, somewhere around 3000 BC.

Nice symethric style in high relief within concenthric borders. The seal looks to be inspired by the style of the Jemdet Nasr, but to us the carving looks like there's an Archer is shooting a bow against an animal and another animal behind, highly stylized.

SizE: 30 mm. tall and c. 18 mm. wide, so the seal delivers a very long imprint.
