A fine Roman blown glass bottle in a deep amethyst color. Most likely a medicinal flask or unguent vial. It is evenly translucent with very little earthen deposits and encrustation. Quite rare and beautifully well preserved, it dates circa 1st-3rd century A.D. Measurements 4.75" x 3".

A massive ancient Chlorite stone Chalice with handle, Intercultural style of ancient near East / Bactria, 3rd. millenium BC.

The vessel carved in a massive chlorite stone with thick walls and high stemmed foot. It has a large handle going from the top to the foot and with a nsculptured rams head at the top. The vessel is decorated with palm trees with small Scorpios on them. Scorpios and snakes are often seen on Southern Kerman and Bactrian stone carvings in the 3rd...

Uncommon Etruscan belt buckle with hooks ending in a female head flanked by a couple of lion heads.
The lions bent forward with ears laid back and teeth bared. Both with lenticular eyes and engraved mane.
The woman looks in the opposite direction and shows a pointed face with almond-shaped eyes. The strands of her hair are curled up in front of her chest, much in accordance with archaic style.
Hooks and loops appear on narrow rectangular frames with emphasized corners...

Highly stylized female figure carved from a long bone. Details of the head, the anatomy and tattoos carefully drawn in ink and faintly visible.
Deep incisions to delimit the different parts of the body. The incised X on the chest may indicate the cross bands of a garment.
Drilled holes at the shoulder level to attach separate arms.

An ancient Egyptian Scarab, 3000 years old, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1/2” long (13 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Notice that the bottom resembles a human face; this was done frequently. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Interesting and very attractive black stone stamp seal with two sides, of the Anatolian type, probably close to Mesopotamia, c. 4th. mill. BC.

The seal carved with horned animal on one side and a swastika (sun-symbol in the Chalcolithic period) on the other.

Probably a handle for a chest or a door. In the form of the face of a lion depicted in high relief, holding a ring in the gaping jaws, with protruding tongue, incised whiskers and fur, and radiating mane. Mounted. From an old New Jersey collection. Purchased on the NY art market in the early 1980s.

Ancient European, Celtic Hallstatt culture, from the late Bronze Age, dating back to approximately 1200-800 B.C. It is a well-preserved example of a bronze socketed spearhead...

Rare Orientalizing belt buckle with hooks ending in phalli with small wings.
Hooks and loops appear on narrow rectangular frames, to which a leather or fabric belt was attached.
This type of buckles reflect the popularity of Near Eastern fashion in early Etruscan art.

A lovely little set of three smaller axes, one likely German or Northern Europe, dark bronze hardstone and finely polished (9,8 cm), a nice green stone Meso-American celt, also neolithic period (6,2 cm), and lastly a pointed butt type, likely ancient Near East or Northern Africa (7,8 cm). Interesting lot that needs more study!
