This is an exquisite piece of history - an arrowhead that was used by the skilled Achaean archers in Ancient Greece. It is made of durable bronze and has a unique V-shaped tanged design known as type VIIIb. This arrowhead belongs to the Bronze Age period, which lasted from around 1500 B.C. to the final phases of the Mycenaean era in 1100 B.C. - a time that coincided with the legendary Trojan War. The vessel features a reel-shaped body with stepped foot and a flange. The doomed top with the head of Medusa at center. Medusa is rendered with a round face and curls ending in snake heads.
The pyxis is made in one piece and open at the bottom. The piece was not intended for concrete use and served as richly decorated burial object.
The surface shows remains of the original white engobe with gilded areas.

Daunian krater with globular body and short funneled mouth. The vertical loop handles on the shoulder area alternate with two red colored stumps.
Brown-red linear decoration around the body, wavy lines at the handle area, hanging semicircles inside the funnel opening.
One handled reattached with bone glue, a medium that was in use until the 1950s.

An important Germanic Visigothic belt buckle from the Migration Period, 6th century AD, Kingdom of the Visigoth, Iberian Peninsula.
