BURNISHED POTTERY BILBIL
Cypriot; Holy Land – Late Bronze Age, 1550 – 1200 BC

Burnished pottery spindle-shaped body, long cylindrical ridged neck, flat out-turned broad rim, flat handle from neck to shoulder, splaying base. Dark brown to blacl smooth burnished suface.

During the Late Bronze Age little jugs, known, as "Bil-bils" were importaed into Canaan. They have been discovered at various sites in Israel. Lachish, Jerusalem, and Gezer, mostly in funerary contexts...

Rectangular basalt mortar vessel with stand plate and domed depression inside. Middle Kingdom, 2137 - 1781 B.C.

A very attractive motar vessel with fine ancient patina and wear from use, but completely intact.

Size: 10,7 cm. long and 7 cm. wide.

Finely modeled faience amulet of the Egyptian dwarf god Pataikos.
The figure is shown nude, crouching with his legs apart on top of a square base. Pataikos holds his hands to either side of the protruding belly. A groove along the chest and abdomen to the navel.
Well shaped facial features, with a line incised at the limit of the shaven hair.
No back pillar. Legs and arms in open-work...

A lovely detailed massive silver figurine of a Male Godess standing with patera (offerbowl), Roman 2nd.-3rd. century AD.

Silver votive figures like this was popular among the elite in Rome. The figure could depict the God bacchus, god of wine.

Height 38mm, massive weighing 16,07g.

A lovely Epigraphic pottery bowl with fine style Cufic caligraphy, Islamic Samenid Dynasty, ca. 9th.-10th. century.

A massive conical bowl both wide and tall and decorated with wonderful caligraphy in black on white glaze.

Size: Near 32 cm. wide and 12 cm. tall.

Condition: Extremely fine for this rare type and large size. Restored from few larger fragments, some repainted in the joint-areas, perhaps some strengthening, but very good original crackled glaze...

A very attractive terracotta figure, depicting a Eros riding a goat, Roman Emperial, ca. 1st. century AD.

Very nice details of the winged Eros holding on the Goats horns, and the are standing on a tall base.
