The medallion decorated with the head of a satyr with wild locks and curled heavy beard. The face shows a fleshy nose, full lips and wide open eyes topped by marked eyebrows. The bold head with fine floccus. Goat-like ears.
Satyrs and silens were a very popular subject in the decoration of gutti.

An exceptional earthenware bowl with incised decoration in a white slip and painted in green and manganese in a yellowish glaze (Bamiyan type), afghanistan, 12th. century (Pre 1221 A.D.).

With carinated walls, pseudo-caligraphy and symethric decorations in high relief. As typical for the most boldest specimens, the green colours are sort of splashed on.

Ancient Roman figure of a standing woman sculpted of terra cotta and with traces of slip pigment. In accordance with the fashion of the time, she is in the process of wrapping her breasts in a strophium, rolling the band of linen around her with her right hand while holding it in place with her left. Faience ushabti for Horpenaset. Depicted mummiform, wearing a tripartite wig and beard. With pleasant, well defined, facial details, with arms crossed and hands emerging from tightly-fitted garment, hands holding hoes and seed sack behind the left shoulder. A T-shaped column of incised text at the front reads: "Illuminate the Osiris, Horpenaset, born of Asetshesen". 30th Dynasty, 365 -332 B.C. 4 3/8 inches high. Intact. Mounted. A museum quality sculpture of a Tilapia nilotica fish which is commonly found in the Nile River. This fish was greatly loved by the ancient Egyptians and it was used as a decorative motif on a variety of materials including stone, ceramics and glass. Rare Apulian kalathos with cylindrical body widening to a flared mouth. The rim set off by incised grooves, the foot with three rounded ridges. The inside of the base with a red wash.
Decorated with brown glaze shading to black. The finger marks just above the ring foot show that the vessel was dipped into the glaze.

Rare fragment of a large faience sistrum. The fragment is the upper part of a large faience sistrum with two hawks above side by side bearing the sun disk. It is seldom to find a sistrum which is surmounted with gods or sacred animals. A sistrum with a similar upper part is in the Eaton College Myer Collection (ECM1693), see last picture.

A choice and large Western Asian bronze sword dating to c. 2nd mill. BC. 'Luristan' Turkmenistan / Uzbekistan bronze age.

The sword with round shoulders and a prominent central midrib. The tang has a bend near the tip.

Size is 51 cm.

Condition: A choice sword with some encrustations. Vry slight edge roughness. Nice green bronze patina. Will improve much if cleaned properly.

A large & heavy Western Asian tanged bronze short Sword dating to 2000-1000 BC. 'Luristan' Turkmenistan / Uzbekistan bronze age.

The sword is massive, and heavy in hand. The tang is bend and the blade with rounded, raised shoulders and a flat central midrib. The edges are still sharp, with only slight roughness.

Size is 46,5 cm.

Condition: Superb - very sligh edge roughness and beautiful green and azurite patination.

The Sassanid Dynasty, was the the last native Persian Kingdom to rule Ancient Near East before the Islamic conquest.

An attractive hammered silver bowl, with an scetchy incised animal in the center of the interior and multible concenthric lines around. It looks like a simple bird, but it needs more cleaning to be certain!

The rim is decorated with a facing Oceanus head showing bushy beards extending to both sides and goat-like ears. The lobster claws expected in the hair of Oceanus are mistakenly rendered as ram horns, the usual attribute for Zeus Ammon.
The Greeks believed Oceanus to be the titan of water, seas, lakes, rivers, oceans, streams and ponds. In the late Roman imagery of North Africa the head of Oceanus presides over displays of sea life.
