Finely modeled example with pellet eyes and applied ears; ridge of clay for the dewlap.
The clay has fired grey. Resting on a black stand.

A beautiful larger silver bowl, Sassanian Empire, 300-600 AD.

The Sassanid Dynasty, was the the last native Persian Kingdom to rule Ancient Near East before the Islamic conquest.

An attractive hammered silver bowl, with an scetchy incised animal in the center of the interior and multible concenthric lines around. It looks like a simple bird, but it needs more cleaning to be certain!

Interesting and typical large specimen of broadbladed silex axes, imitating the celts of the early European bronzeage, made in South East Denmark, during Late Neolithic period, ca. 1800 BC.

An Egyptian bronze bull depicted walking on an intergral rectangular base. Bull measures 50mm in length and stands 50mm high from the base to the top of the horns. The tip of one horn and one ear lost, otherwise condition is good, with a dark freen patina , late Dynastic Period, c. 664-332 B.C.

A heavy silver armring evolving into a huge spiral, very complicated and beautiful silverwork for the period.

The rim is decorated with a facing Oceanus head showing bushy beards extending to both sides and goat-like ears. The lobster claws expected in the hair of Oceanus are mistakenly rendered as ram horns, the usual attribute for Zeus Ammon.
The Greeks believed Oceanus to be the titan of water, seas, lakes, rivers, oceans, streams and ponds. In the late Roman imagery of North Africa the head of Oceanus presides over displays of sea life.
