17th Century Chinese Bronze Donkey Shaped Incense Burner with Dragon Saddle
It is 8.2 inches (20.8 cm) tall by 8.6 inches (21.8 cm) in length and 4 inches (10.1 cm) wide. It is 2455 gram (5.4 Lb).
It has pitting, firing holes, small chips and missing 2 sticks at the saddle, loss of patina, oxidation, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A very decorative, marked tripod form bronze censer with irregular gilt splashed throughout the body and along the handles, and a Mark in relief. Nineteenth century or earlier. Diameter : 11,3 cm. H : 5,4 cm.
Archaic bronze lidded ritual food vessel on three legs (Ding). The body is round in form and divided into banded areas of detailed interlocking cloud and thunder motif. The band closest to the rim curves inward before flanging out again. There are two animal headed looped handles cast on either side. The three feet are squat and curved with cast details like those on the handles. The lid is similarly divided into banded areas to match the body...

There is an image of Buddha beneath the veil on her head. Placed before her is her ambrosia bottle (kalasa). At the foot of her lotus pedestal is a band with two dragons facing a flaming pearl...

Rare and endearing figure of a young boy disciple of Quanyin (the Goddess of Compassion) wearing a garment etched with a lotus flower - the symbol of Buddhism. He is often depicted near Quanyin with his hands in reverential prayer. The bronze is heavily cast and has wires imbedded underneath the pedestal, perhaps for attaching to a group of figures. A beautiful rare etched paitong basin depicting court ladies playing chess in the center. Around the inside of the basin there are scenes of scholars, artists, falconer etc. Around the inside edge is etched the "shou" characters representing good luck and fortune.

Condition: No repairs. A small casting crack on the inside that does not go all the way through.

18th century Chinese bronze sculpture of a running boy holding a Precious Gem in his raised hand. Unusual image, wonderful casting and detailing - see his smiling face and knots of his robe. Excellent warm patina, 200 years worth of compressed dust on the surface, pleasantly heavy. Fixed to a beautifully carved hardwood stand. Very nice object for scholar’s desk. Height with stand 3 5/16 inches (84 mm).
