Very rare small celadon Yueyao lugged jar from a Zhejiang Kiln, circa Five Dynasties/Early Northern Song. This type of ceramic was a precursor to Longquan ware. There is a firing crack and some fritting (caused by pockets of air trapped beneath the glaze during firing) on one side- noted in enlargements. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 6cm/24in.

This is a nice piece and of museum quality Tang dynasty ((618 – 906 A.D.) copper green glaze ewer. The shape of the ewer looks stout and strong. It has a long body with a small handle, two lugs and a short stout spout. The neck is straight and slightly high with a short and thicken everted rim.

The design on the body is a simple linear abstraction. It is incised with fine roulette design under the ice craze transparent glaze and the spout with ribbed details...

A rare chinese crackle glaze Yue Kiln jar with four lugs of late Tang to Five dynasties period

Small wide mouth grey pottery jar with “soy” brown glaze from an unknown Southern Kiln. The glaze resembles Jizhou ware. Circa Song Dynasty or earlier, the body is quite thinly potted with delicate lugs near the mouth. There is fritting on the mouth and handle but no cracks or chips. H: 9cm/3.5in and D: 6cm/2.3in.

A simple black glazed ribbed vase with foliated rim. It stand on a two tier splay high foot, then everted towards a bulb like body towards a straight neck and then slightly everted towards a foliated mouth rim.

No damage, repair or restoration. There are abrasion, minor chips, pin holes, bubble burst and minute shrinkage of the glaze. All this are shown in the picture 3...

A Chinese, straw glazed, ewer with splashed decoration to one side; Tang dynasty. Though a number of kilns produced similar ewers during the Tang dynasty, the conical spout and discreet pattern of chevrons, beneath the glaze, would point to it being a product of the Shouzhou kilns in Anhui province. Beautiful black ovoid jar with some small russet speckles and streaks. This piece is in perfect condition with a near black glaze, from a Northern Kiln (most like Shanxi 山西 or Henan 河南), and dating to the Northern Song/Jin Dynasties. D: 14cm/5.5in and H: 10.5cm/4.1in.

A rare Imperial Yellow Ming Pottery Goutou tile terminal, late 14th or early 15th century, probably South Nanjing, Jiangsu province. The circular roundel is moulded with an Imperial ‘Five Claw Dragon’ in a fine yellow glaze.

High relief and very attractive.
