A very early and rare massive bronze figure of a seated deity, probably Sri Devi / Lakshmi, holding implements and tall headdress and a breast band around her sizable attributes, South Indian, perhaps Tamil Nadu, probably pre 17th. century!

Size: 88-89 mm. tall and weighing 260 grams.

Condition: Choice Very fine, lovely old patina, with a fine brown and green colours.

Antique Museum Quality, Royal Indian silver fly whisk (chamara, chauri orchowri) 18th -19th century Islamic Mughal India. Handmade in solid silver with hollowed interior fly whisk handle mounted with white yak's hair.

The cast and finely chiseled whisk head consist of a single beaded collar with a floral design below and two rows of casts and hand sculptured in relief stylized crowned animals' heads (each row with 31 heads, which come to 62 heads in total)...

18th century small votive Indian bronze sculpture depicting Shridevi - a form of Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu representing Wealth - with bare breasts and holding an open blue lotus (nilotpala) in her left hand. Very nice casting - see her gracious figure with the slightest bent at the waist and one foot placed in front of the other, beautiful warm patina, high devotional wear, overall in great condition for a votive piece. Height 2 1/4 inches.

An attractive brass or white bronze alter / shrine of Virabhadra (Shiva with attendants), Western India, difficult to date, but we think it's at least 18th.-19th. century, but likely somewhat older.

Description; Having a 6 3/4", cupric steel double edged blade, with a silver, at one time gilded hilt and pommel with traces of gold still visible, stylized lion's head pommel, red velvet over wood sheath with pierced silver decorations. Great craftsmanship been rendered by the maker by detailing the lion head, movable tongue. Overall length of this item is 27 cm, 10.5 inches. Small size of the hilt is the indication that this dagger been used by a Child or a woman!

Altar dedicated to Hanuman, the Hindu semi-god, carved in openwork relief to represent Hanuman standing with a martial attitude, carrying a club in his left hand and an uprooted tree in his right hand, and trampling a supine figure, probably a demon. Ornate 19C Silver Indo Tibetan Dragon Necklace. The decorative and intricately worked silver 19th or early 20th century necklace has two open mouth dragons and a bird in high relief at the bottom. The necklace measures 30 inches in length. In good condition.

Four-armed sword wielding Virabhadra is a manifestation of Shiva. Wonderful and complete sculpture of Padmavati, a Hindu goddess who is worshipped as an aspect of the goddess Lakshmi, but who also plays an important role in Jainisme as the protecting goddess of the 23rd Tirthankara.
