An incredible Japanese antique Kanazawa kaidan staircase, with hand quartered sawn keyaki drawer fronts and black sliding door framework. Mixture of sliding compartments and pullout drawers. Attached original hand rail that is very unusual. Stunning original lacquered reddish orange coloration. Overall the chest is in excellent original condition with everything working just as it should.

Beautiful antique japanese cha tansu made with persimon wood, made in two sections, quality metal hardware, drawers pulls have a delicate petal design, rounded drawer face on lower cabinet, tiered shelving in middle section with two sliding doors, two larger sliding glass panels cover middle section. Measures 14.75" deep 34.75" wide 59.5" tall.

Japanese antique kannon biraki tansu (tansu chest with hinged doors), made of sugi (cryptomeria) wood with kiri (paulownia) wood on front, large doors with drop in iron hinges (doors can be completely removed), interior has 4 large drawers with bronze hirute shaped drawer pulls, Edo Period. Size: 35 3/4" high x 33 1/4" wide x 17" deep.

Japanese "zelkova" (keyaki) wood Yonezawa style two-section tansu with round iron lock plates engraved in a butterfly motif and rimmed with a thin band of silvery "hakudo" (nickel alloy). "Mokko" (melon style) drawer pulls and four side carrying handles. Circa 1880. 38"H x 38 3/4"W x 17 1/2"D. The tansu is in very good sturdy condition and has the original lacquered finish. There is a slight warp in the case at the lower lower left side of the drawers and a crack extends across the top...

Antique Japanese 2-section futon tansu, made with chestnut wood frame, keyaki (elm) wood drawers and slider panels, sugi (cryptomeria) wood interior, iron hardware, top section has been converted into an entertainment center with shelves for components (can be removed if desired), small safe box compartment with key and two small drawers inside, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size: 68" high x 68" wide x 30" deep.

Unusual Japanese antique gyosho bako (peddler's box), made of sugi (cryptomeria) wood, iron hardware including loops for rope so that peddler could carry box on his back, 4 drawers and a safe box, three interior drawers, Meiji Period. Size: 35 1/4" high x 11" wide x 16 1/4" deep.

Beautiful Japanese antique storage tansu with locking bar, made with all keyaki (elm) wood front and frame, iron hardware, top portion has three drawers covered by a vertical locking bar, bottom portion has sliding panels with horizontal slats, bottom right side opens to reveal two small interior drawers, deep red translucent lacquer finish, Edo Period. Size: 41" high x 38" wide x 19 1/2" deep.

Beautiful and unusual Japanese antique kuruma tansu (storage chest on wheels), made all of heavy keyaki (elm) wood with iron hardware, front has sliding panels with horizontal slats, sides and back all have wooden bracing, interior left side has 4 drawers of different sizes with iron hardware, right side interior has hidden compartment that opens to reveal 2 secret boxes.
