The chocolate pot is 8.5 inches (21.7 cm) tall by 5.75 inches (14.6 cm) wide. The cup is 2.95 inches (7.5 cm) tall by 3 inches (7.7 cm) wide. The saucer is 5.1 (13 cm) wide. They are 3 Lb.

Charming antique Japanese small bronze box in the form of Bodhi Darma (Daurma) as he sits meditating, wearing his trade mark expression intense concentration, nice details, a box most likely used for seal ink, Meiji Period. Size: 2 5/8" high

A sublime antique Japanese tsuba centered on the theme of the ocean. The tsuba contains motifs of abalone shell, basket weave pattern, and waves peeking through the patterned holes near the area where the blade would have been fitted. Tsuba is done in iron with mixed metal accents to highlight the abalone shell and rope. Age: 19th century, Edo period. Size: Diameter: 3.25"

Antique Japanese tsuba done in the finest craftsmanship. Made of iron with extensive shakudo nanako plate overall and with many gold blossoms. A motif of very detailed chrysanthemums densely covers both sides of the tsuba. The view in general would be titled, "Kikka Senpi zu" or Chrysanthemums in full bloom. Age: Possibly Momoyama Period. Size: Diameter: 2.75"

This nice Japanese carved ivory Okimono group is an early 20th century piece. The base is 9” long and 6 ½“ wide. The sitting merchant is 4 ¾” tall, 3” wide and 2 ½“ in depth. It depicts a smiling old man holding a tobacco pipe and displaying his merchandise in the market. The signature is placed on a small red rectangular hard stone which is inlayed on an oval ivory piece. It reads “SHOZAN”. It is in excellent condition.

A rare Kotou ware vase with meticulous painting done on the surface with an image of herons and reeds on one side, and a late spring flower bouquet still life. The Koto ware was established in 1829 by Kinuya Hanbei who invited an artisan trained in producing imari wares. The kilns continued production until 1842 where the Hikone clan took over and made the kilns part of the clan. The kilns declined after the assassination of Ii Naosuke in 1860 and the last existing kiln closed in 1895...

Beautiful antique Japanese large covering originally used in a Buddhist temple. Three deep blue silk panels sewn together and woven with gold in design of 18 chrysanthemums and 18 floral roundels. Chrysanthemums with 32 petals, back is lined with a light blue cotton.
Inscription of previous owner, which states: Noto, Kashima-gun, Koura Village property of the abbot of Kouken (ji) temple...

This is Meiji beni-shibori silk jyuban kimono textile of the Meiji era(1868-1912). The motif is dyed in a dyer's saffron with a cherry tree. It has pole a few stain and damage. However, I do not stand out. It is very beautiful. The lining is angular momentum crimson silk. size:136cm x 123cm (53.5" x 48.4")

This is beni-itajime katazome silk jyuban kimono textile of the Meiji era(1868-1912). The motif is dyed in a dyer's saffron with a cherry tree. Other parts are rinzu silk. It has pole a few stains. However, I do not stand out. It does not have damage and is very beautiful. size:146cm x 123cm (57.5" x 48.4")

Large rosewood display chest, made in China for export to Japan, beautifully inlaid with scenes of flowers, insects, birds and a frog, many shelves for display, one drawer, cabinet doors open to compartment with two shelves, late 19th century c1900. Size: 68" high x 48 3/4" wide x 17 3/4" deep.

Antique Japanese Bronze Warrior with upraised arm holding a Buddhist Bell Bowl and holding spear in other arm. Gold leaf on raised design. Very fine detail, good condition with small wear to gilt. On hardwood stand, bell taper inside bowl. Bronze figure is 17.5" High, with bowl 24" High, 30" High overall.

Antique pair of Japanese samuri dolls aka musha ningyo representing the Empress Jingo and her faithful minister Takenouchi no Sukune. Unfortunately, the baby Ojin has been lost. This interesting and finely carved Japanese ivory okimono is a mid-19th century product. It is 4 7/8” high, 2 3/8” wide and 1 ¼” thick. It depicts one adult and two youngsters engaged in the pastime of catching bugs. One boy, on the back of the adult, waves a fly swatter in his left hand while his right hand grabs at a dragonfly over his head that is trying to escape. The second boy stands next to them straining to hold up the long insect-catching bamboo pole...

They have finely carved faces, and are lacquered with many coats of gofun (white oyster shell lacquer). They are adorned with sumptuous silk brocades and lacquered armor, indicative of this period of ningyo artistry...

Japanese Meiji Period Musha Ningyo (Boys' Day Doll) depicting Emperor Jimmu Tenno, the first Emperor of Japan, in an unusual seated position. A fine and rare Ningyo, wonderfully well-executed face with strong features, covered overall in a fine tinted gofun (oyster shell lacquer), with a spectacular silk fiber hairstyle, sumptuous silk brocades, and a sword at his hip while holding a fabulous polearm weapon. 10.5 inches, 26.5 cm.

Edo Period Portable Wood Buddhist Shrine with Exquisite Carving. 17h x 12w inches, 43h x 30.5w cm. In Buddhism, portable shrines were made so that devout travelers with nowhere to worship could carry their shrines with them. The shrines were made with closing doors, to preserve the artwork. This shrine features exquisitely carved deities and finely lacquered details.
