This is a KYOTO SATSUMA EARTHENWARE VASE circa 1875 to 1900. Painted with Rust & GOLD there are two Primary Painted Scenes. Those being the SAMURAI Panel and another Panel with CHILDREN Playing. Size of this SATSUMA VASE is 4 1/2" in diameter X 6 1/2" tall. At the top the Dragon Motif Handles. Additionally, Painted Butterflies on the sides. A Very Desirable ANTIQUE KYOTO SATSUMA VASE. An armorer's (katshushi) tsuba by Miochin Munekane (signed.) Of smaller size associated with wakizashi. Engraved katakiri-bori flowers and vine decoration (six petals on vine, possibly clematis.) Artist line active between 1818 and 1887. Ex Robert Haynes collection. Good condition. A larger, sukashi tsuba at least by the same line, also signed Miochin Munekane, is in the Brooklyn Museum. 2 9/16 inches (6.5 cm) X 2 3/8 inches (6.1 cm) and 1/8 inch (.4 cm) thick.

Japanese makie lacquer sake wine Dishes with an auspicous design of Sho-Chiku-Bai (pines,plums & bumboos). This design is a happy ceremonial symbol for the gold taka-makie (raised design) designs with kirigane (small gold leaf squares) on brownish red (with purple tone) lacquer. Each piece is very thin and light and in new condition. There is no wear to the gold and lacquer except one small repair on one dish. This type of set is often used as a set of three...

Late 19th Century Japanese cloisonne bronze charger with a flock of flying cranes. Beautifully designed, it measures 12 inches in diameter. There are a few stress marks in the upper left side, please study last photograph where I have enlarged and highlighted the area through photoshop. It is not as evident in person. Pricing has taken this into account.

Japanese Edo period woodblock print titled "Four" (yon/shi) depicting the actors Onoe Kikugoro IV and Ichikawa Kodanji IV in the roles of Oiwa and Izaemon from a series titled "After The Seven Iroha" by Toyokuni III (also known as Kunisada) dated 8/1856. This series was published the same year as "Seven Variations of the Iroha." The title cartouches of the prints in this series feature ciphers written seven different ways. 19th century netsuke of a bronze fly on a boxwood pumpkin. Elegant clever design in Japanese taste, wonderfully rendered texture of the pumpkin skin, himotoshi (cord opening) is formed by the stem, great patina. Diameter 1.31 inches.

Beautiful antique Japanese large covering originally used in a Buddhist temple. Three deep blue silk panels sewn together and woven with gold in design of 18 chrysanthemums and 18 floral roundels. Chrysanthemums with 32 petals, back is lined with a light blue cotton.

An antique Japanese imari ware covered basin. The basin is decorated with traditional auspicious Japanese motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum, and cranes. Along with the auspicious motifs are designs often seen with imari wares such as scrolling vines and chrysanthemum-like patterns. Beautiful and unusual Japanese antique kuruma tansu (storage chest on wheels), made all of heavy keyaki (elm) wood with iron hardware, front has sliding panels with horizontal slats, sides and back all have wooden bracing, interior left side has 4 drawers of different sizes with iron hardware, right side interior has hidden compartment that opens to reveal 2 secret boxes.
