A cute dog Fushimi doll. The dog has an interesting collar possibly in the form of a fabric collar, often seen with domesticated animals portrayed in Japanese paintings. This is a very special Japanese cloisonne bowl. It was made by Ogasawara Shuzo. Shuzo's ability to capture a life-like quality make his pieces with fish some of the finest ever created in the Meiji Era. The bowls is in excellent condition. It measures 7 inches across and is 3 1/2 inches tall.

An antique Japanese imari ware covered basin. The basin is decorated with traditional auspicious Japanese motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum, and cranes. Along with the auspicious motifs are designs often seen with imari wares such as scrolling vines and chrysanthemum-like patterns. Often, these patterns are known as kinrande, where the motifs are emulating gold brocades. Age: Meiji Period Size: Diameter 11.5" Height 7"

Spectacular Meiji Period maru obi c.1900. Woven on both sides with a jacquard loom, the blue/green dyes make this a superb example of a Kyoto style obi. The motifs are fans with pine, plum, bamboo, chrysanthemum and cranes; all auspicious symbols of happiness and good fortune. Excellent condition. Can be made into table runners or hangings. The central Mikomi decorated with a floral motif of two stylised flowers surrounded by a broad band of alternating cartouches in kakiwake style with auspicious objects, Chinese and Japanese Fans and a Whisk, and Cranes. The dish has a fuchi beni, iron brown glazed rim with no pattern to the reverse...

A rather striking Chinese derived pattern of Shou Lao and the Eight Immortals painted in a wucai, five colour, palette. The central mikomi painted with an amalgam of a Feiyu, Flying fish dragon, and a conventional dragon, rather than a true Feiyu, which would have had a pair of fins and fish tail rather than legs and conventional tail of this example. The border pattern is composed of auspicious cloud and sacred fungus motifs linked by a Karakusa arabesque...

It is a silk kimono made in Akita region in the latter half in the Meiji era. In the times when better quality was found in the Meiji era, this is a superior expensive item.
