19th century Korean porcelain water dropper (used for diluting ink) in a shape of curled carp. According to a Chinese legend, a carp that can swim up the waterfall turns into a dragon, and thus serves as a paragon of perseverance, especially in scholarly pursuits. Free potting with nice depiction of fish’ scales, very nice underglaze blue wash, 2 openings for water. Old compressed dust on the surface, some scratching as to be expected, wonderful patina, overall in great shape...

Extremely Scarce Set of Five Prehistoric Korean Arrowheads from Korea's Neolithic Period 8000-1500 BCE. These faceted arrowheads are identical to the Neolithic arrowheads on page 31 of the catalog, the 29th United Association of the University Museums of Korea Exhibition - Korea's Bow and Arrow, The Military Academy Museum. Sizes range from 1.75 to 3.25 inches. It is unlikely you will ever again see prehistoric Korean arrowheads offered for sale.

A good Korean Koryo dynasty 13th/14th century celadon bowl, decorated with inlaid white and black of Chrysanthemum medallions to exterior among classic scrolls, the interior with twin fish medallion within double circle and ruyi heads, surrounded by four twin fish medallions in cavetto wall. Condition is very good, except minor tiny flake chip to exterior rim, no crack an free from any restoration. Diameter: 12.8cm.

His works are in the collections of the world's biggest museums, including the Metropolitan Museum and the British Museum. The reserve is divided into five repeating sections each terminating in "spearhead motifs", possibly a leaf with tendrils either side, both from the central boss and the raised border (10 in total, five from the boss pointing outwards, five from the border pointing inwards)...

Chogappo made of fragments of choma (ramie), one of bast fibers, which is recycled from ramie textiles and dyed with sumi (ink) later. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments. (Reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). Both warps and wefts are hand-plied for all fragments...

Rare 5th Century Korean Gaya Water Jar of Classic Form, Color, and Design. The decoration is incised into the clay between the carved bands before firing. Gaya was a confederation of small states independent from and influential on the the Silla Kingdom and its pottery, until Silla annexed Gaya in the 6th Century. The long neck keeps water from sloshing out while the jar is being carried. Height: 10 inches, 25.5 cm.
