1300s/1400s

Decorated under the glaze with stylized patterns and concentric circles in iron oxide. Skillfully wheel-thrown and rests on a slightly flaring foot. Well-formed lid is surmounted by a circular knop with a yellowish-brown iron glaze. The interior and foot are unglazed. There are minor areas of glaze degradation on the top of the lid from burial. Some minor wear, small old chips to the interior lip of the bowl. Some evidence of burial earth remaining...

A rare SISATCHANALAI-Sukothai Ceramic Bowl, KALONG KILNS NORTHERN THAILAND, with iron decor. Base typically unglazed. 14-15th Century. Condition good with some wear considering age, one inconsequential chip on rim. Size: 15.5 cm. diameter x H. 7 cm.

Small 14th-16th century Sawankhalok two-eared vase with crackled light green celedon glaze. Incised rings appear at neck of bottle. Condition is very good, without cracks or chips. Height: 4 inches; diameter: 2.75 inches

Thai 14th-15th Century Sawankhalok, Ayutthaya period, glazed ovoid shaped bottle flanked by two small ring ear handles at shoulder, and glazed in olive green celadon tones with horizontal linear markings. Nice shiny gloss to glaze falls short of base. Note slight chipping of glaze on one side. Height is 5 inches.

Lovely 14th-15th Century Sawankhalok bottle with two ear handles at shoulder with refined incised horizontal line markings. Glaze has a nice olive green color with some omission during glazing. Large pale green glazed plate with incised decoration, most likely from the Thantwe kiln near present day Rangoon, Burma. Excavated from the Tak Burial site near, Mae Sot along the Thai/Burmese border. This can be reliably dated to least 14th/16th centuries due to other known and datable ceramics from China and Thailand that were found in the same strata...

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a finely-crackled translucent olive-green celadon glaze. The inner surface has been elaborately decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines, with surface decoration also to the flared rim.. The base remains unglazed revealing the pale grey stoneware body...

The inner surface has been decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines. The unglazed lower part of the underside has fired to a reddish-brown.

Here is a great little decorated Khmer or Champa pottery pipe. This particular piece is heavily decorated with some minor damage in the form of chips to the rims and body. It measures almost 6cm in length. I currently have three of these that were all recovered by divers from the red river delta, which accounts for their pristine condition.

2 very cute small SAWANKHALOK 14-15th Century Siamese pots with underglaze painted directly onto the biscuit. The base of both are typically unglazed. Condition good, shiny overglaze on one is faded/worn. Although the 2 have different shapes they both measure W. 3.5 x H. 4 cm. Price is for the pair !
