This is a beautiful Japanese Cloisonne Enamel tray from Namikawa Sosuke. The tray looks perfect but it has does have a very difficult to see professional restoration to the face. This would be a great addition for a Museum or fine collection because it displays so well. This is a top flight piece for less than a third normal price. The tray measures 11 3/4 inches across and it is heavy.

A very large 19th. century hanging scroll with a life-size anchestor portrait. Excellently painted in ink and colour on silk, on paper. The rank insignia of a paradise flycatcher identifies the portrayed as a 9th. grade official. Size: The hanging scroll as the background of the portrait: 235 x 129,5 cm. A beautiful blue glazed porcelain dish with foliate rim and four characters Chenghua mark. Late 17th Century. The dish is in perfect condition with some kiln faults on outside of the foot rim, and expected wear for its age. Please study the photos carefully to inspect the condition. This is a beautiful four sided Japanese cloisonne vase. The work is subtle and the workmanship of very high quality. The artists that come to mind when looking at this piece are Kawade and Souske. The vase is not signed. The rims are silver. The vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall and it is in excellent condition.

Weighty, yet smooth and even in the hand, this Kuro Oribe bowl is quite attractive and unique in its construction. The jet-black glaze nicely highlights the Chrysanthemum flowers (Kiku) on the front and back of the bowl which are auspicious symbols of longevity and rejuvenation in Japan. When first introduced to the island nation during the Nara period (710 – 793 AC), the Japanese Royal Family was fascinated with the Chrysanthemum...

The Chinese porcelain dish has a border of two repeating elements, a garlanded ruyi and three interlinked rings. The centre of the dish depicts a Chinese landscape with two scholars approaching a solitary angler. The dish was made for the Japanese where such pieces were used and much appreciated in the tea ceremony, at a time when the Japanese porcelain industry was in its infancy.

A Japanese Arita Polychrome Bowl, The chrysanthemum moulded bowl decorated in strong enamels with floral sprays including carnation extending over the rim to the interior. Arita E18thC. Diameter: 7 3/4″ (19.8 cm ). Condition: excellent perfect. Compressed slightly oval shape.

Antique fish sculpture, made from silver, with a fully articulated body, allowing wonderful lifelike movement. The forehead bears a symbol of two fish swimming closely in a yin yang formation. Its mouth is slightly open, almost smiling. Each of its scales has been embossed with intricate designs. A four character Chinese manufacturer's mark can be seen underneath the chin. Size: 7.5" L x 2" W x3.25" H

Unusual large pair of antique giboshi (bridge finials). Made of bronze mixed with a substantial amount of copper. This can be seen in areas of where people's hands have rubbed back the finish. A lovely almost black patina with areas of green. Very heavy and solid. Unusual to have a matching pair this size. Mid Edo Period (circa 1800's). Size: 16 1/2" high x 8" wide diameter.
