This being New Year's Day, to the fields my heart is drawn,

Chinese antique pair of rose wood arm chairs. Made of rosewood and carved with blossoming branches and birds. The back rest is carved in the shape of a vase with the branches emerging. The rounded arms of the chair are also carved with small vases and flowers. Republic Period c1920.

Nyonya bowl with maker's stamp.
Nyonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nyonyas, hence the term Nyonya ware. Nyonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: W. 17cm. H. 6.5cm.
Condition: No repairs. Some wear.

This is a popular Buddhist image called the Six Harmonies because the word "deer" is a homophone for the number "six" in Chinese and represents earth below heaven. 19th century

Chinese antique wool Pau Tau rug with woven together in a whimsical pictorial composition of a flying crane, deer, and an exaggerated large peony.
The Peony is shy and is hiding amongst the craggily rock formation, reminiscent of a Taihu stone. Admits the red sun and swirling clouds, the pine tree stands along, swaying towards the flying crane which is about to land as the prancing deer is on a field of flowers.

A rectangular and exceptionally designed top horse saddle rug or seating mat made of wool in knotted pile. Centrally two flying birds, between them quite invisible Chinese characters, bordered by swastika pattern. Lined and edged with different blue fabrics. Condition: faded, few small areas with missing pile (moth damage). Dimension total: 77.5 cm x 62.5 cm.

A pair of Imari tea bowls and saucers made for export to Europe decorated with a pattern of Hydrangea plants framed by a reserves bordered with brocade drapery tied with ribbons.
The tea bowls are in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. They measure approximately 7.3 cm in diameter and are 4.2 cm in height. The saucers are also in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. However both have some glazing flaws, glaze skip, to the reverse, and one has some random crazing...
