Large green glazed Shiwan pottery teapot in the shape of a water bucket with a pour spout, small lid, and carrying handle. In very good condition save for a tiny flea bite on the spout, it measures about 10.5” high (to top of handle) x 9" diameter (10” across including spout). Dates circa 1885.

Antique Japanese tsuba (hand guard for samurai katana) decorated with a monkey peeking though the bamboo rails of a cage or gate. Often occurring in Japanese folk tales, the monkey generally symbolizes a trickster. Since tsuba were often a warrior's source of personal expression, it is likely this monkey held specific significance to the blade's owner.

Age: Meiji Period (1868-1912)

Dimensions: 3" high x 2 7/8" wide x 1/8" thick (1/4" thick including monkey).

This is charming Netsuke, hand-carved during the 19th century in Japan, that depicts a Seated Man, who is beating on a Drum, while stroking his long beard with his left hand. Use and handling has given this piece a nice mwllow patina and a smooth and lustrous surface. It feels very nice to the touch...

Chinese, Enameled Silver Snuff Bottle, Bajixiang Emblems This is an wonderful Enameled Silver Snuff Bottle of Flattened Circular form, with a round, long neck and a narrow raised elongated edge and flat base. Most likely made, based on its style, during the first half of the 19th century. It is very colorfully decorated with enameled Bajixiang (Eight Buddhist Auspicious Symbols) Emblems. It is designed to bring peace and blessings to its owners...

This circular-form lidded box is of a type found widely distributed throughout Southeast Asia as a Chinese trade item exchanged for spices, pearls, precious metals produced by the various foreign island cultures. Small boxes such as this one were possibly intended for cosmetics or spice storage. This box is painted with a stylized flower on the lid surrounded by a hastily-painted leaf border. The base is likewise painted with two abstract floral designs...

Late 18th to early 19th century Indian bronze votive sculpture of Ganesha sitting on a base, cast in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, and thus is invoked before any new undertaking. He bestows good luck on his worshippers, and is invoked in marriage ceremonies and in some forms of Tantric worship. Very good casting with nice thinly cast base, beautiful warm patina, overall in very good condition for a votive piece...

Charming antique Japanese small bronze box in the form of Bodhi Darma (Daurma) as he sits meditating, wearing his trade mark expression intense concentration, nice details, a box most likely used for seal ink, Meiji Period. Size: 2 5/8" high

Japanese tetsubin or tea pot, typically constructed from iron with a large handle to be hung over a fire pit. The tea pot has a bronze lid with a flower shaped finial. Its body is covered in small protruding studs, incised rings around its widest point, and its foot has old patina.

An actor in street attire standing in front of a row of shops and tea houses by Osaka artist Sadahiro (active 1830-1851) dating circa 1845. A pupil of Kunisada, Sadahiro's woodblock prints were published in Osaka in the 1830's and 1840's. The seal of the publisher Iseya Sensaburo appears on the actor's head. The artist's signature is in black ink at the lower left. Exceptional color and impression with lacquer highlights on the edge of the inner kimono and mica in the background...

The glasses made of smoky crystal. Minor chips to the tortoiseshell, some of the metal hinges have been replaced in the old days. Very good condition considering the age. China, late 19th century. Width 13, 5 cm. H. 5 cm.

Antique Japanese 2 section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing), made of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top section has two large drawers and the bottom section has two drawers of different widths. The lower right hand corner has a hinged safe box door which opens to reveal two small interior drawers. Hardware is made of iron and includes square lock plates and square drawer pulls.

A finely incised Beetle scarab of a more naturalistic form with detailed engraving of the Beetle itself, New Kingdom, c. 1539–1075 BC.

Interesting engraving on the base with a large Ankh hieroglyphs that looks to have legs and is walking towards another elongated figural sign.

Size: 17-18 mm.

Condition: Very fine, intact with much wear to the glaze, attractive patina!

Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Eberhard Hanfstaengl (1886-1973)...

This is an extremely rare Japanese cloisonne enamel. It appears to be an early Ando piece. I say this because of the form used and the enamel technique used on this vase. The enameling has characteristics similar to some of the unique signed Kawade pieces with their mottled flowing enamels done in various colors. The enamels also vary from translucent to opaque. The vase is heavy due to the thick enameling...

This is a nice piece. It's a large, weathered limestone button scarab which dates to the Late Period in Egyptian history (circa 600 B.C.). Measures: 1.2" in length. Condition: Intact with obvious water abrasion to the surface. Provenance provided to purchaser.

Meiji (1868-1912) Japanese Makuzu Kozan Satsuma Censer Koro Buddha Crane - AS IS

It is 16 inches (40.6 cm) tall by 8 inches (20.3 cm) wide. It is 8.1 Lb.

It has been restored at the crane, shoulo, both handles, the monkeys' arms, and the rim. It also has rubbing of gold and paint, firing cracks, missing accessories at the shoulo's hands, stains, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

Chinese canton enamel box with slightly domed lid. The sides and top finely painted with scholars in landscape setting in famille rose palette. Interior with turquoise enamel. Condition: good - considering the delicate nature of enamel, rim of box with two very small retouchings and and sides of lid with three tiny enamel losses and few stress lines.
