This is a very nice solid figure blowing into a conch shell. It is attributed to the Protoclassic Nayarit culture of West Mexico, C100BC-250AD. It has the original pigments that are much brighter than the photos show. It is a beautiful patinized orange and black. There is a chip off the right rear foot. A unusually elaborate pair of pottery figures of female Attendants, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD.), dating to late Ming period c. 1550-1650 AD.



The ladies are dressed large thick robes, with imposing hairdresses. One is wearing af fan, the other is wearing purse in front of her chest. Both are standing on round plints. They are glazed in torqouise and dark blue colours.

Nicely painted facial details, careful thick glazing and a fine expression.

Chinese Qing dynasty Nanking ware bowl decorated around the center in underglaze blue with figures in a landscape setting of mountains, trees, traditional huts, and boats on a lake. The flaring top rim and base have brown incised bands that are characteristic of brown etched wares produced between 1880 and 1920. A seated figure of an emaciated male holding a tube above a small pot. The upper tip of the tube (or staff) is missing, an ancient loss. A minor chip to the end of the nose. Extensive deposits, as can be seen in the photos. The figure measures 9" in height. An expressive,authentic figure.

This elaborate woman's dress bodice is from Afghanistan, formerly Baluchistan. The fabric was first elaborately embroidered with an applique of thin strands of braids. Then it was heavily decorated with coins and beads.

A heavy 19th Century lotus shaped porcelain deep bowl decorated on the outside with famille rose enamels depicting a dignatory and boys in a garden landscape. The base bears the six character seal mark ( painted in iron red) of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874). Condition: very good - there is wear to the turquoise glazed interior but no damages and no restoration. 14.5 cm diameter; 6 cm deep

A good Nabeshima dish from the Nabeshima clan’s Okawachi kiln of oval boat shaped form, perhaps inspired by the boat shaped ingots, sychee or yuanbao, and decorated with an auspicious pattern of a pair of Goldfish swimming amongst water weeds. This particular pattern and shape belongs to a group of wares that were approved by the Shogun Ieharu in 1774 and were produced throughout the late Edo period for the consumption of the Shogunate. Edo Period (19c) Karatsu Guinomi (sake cup) from old Kansai pottery collection.

Karatsu pottery is one of most desired pottery type in Japan based in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture since 15th century.
It is made from high in iron clay often decorated with an iron-based underglaze, giving an earthy and natural feeling to the fired items.

A Blanc de Chine Libation Cup. Of rhinoceros horn form on one side with a tiger seated below flowering prunus whilst looking up at a Dragon. The other with a deer below pine and a stork. Chinese 18thC. Height 7.2 cm. Length 13.7 cm. Condition: there is a shallow glaze flake 0.4 cm and 0.3 cm to the rim (See last image) and a small flake in the foot.

A Blue and White Reticulated Dish. Well decorated in underglaze blue with the classic Fitzhugh pattern. E19thC. Diameter; 9″ (22.8cm). Condition; excellent.

A Rare Pale Green Fitzhugh Large Plate. Decorated with the typical pattern using a more unusual paler green enamel. Highlighted with gilding. Chinese C1825. Diameter; 25.0 cm. Condition; excellent, there is a shallow chip/frit 1.0 cm to the rim.

Slightly deformed on one side, with unglazed foot ring.
